Yeah yeah, my uncle in Nintendo has been saying the same thing, as well as saying that Kingdom Hearts is secretly totally gonna launch on Switch alongside the Ps 4.
also cj from gta san andreas is the next character in smash ultimate, uncle sakurai told me so himself!
you make me want to do terrible things to you~Final Destination. Home. At least it was until I got 3-0'd by Captain Falcon.
but seriously, I doubt that nintendo would just sit on projects like that. it would make more sense to release it asap than just let it rot away, unless of course it would get overshadowed by another game :/
you make me want to do terrible things to you~I've said it before elsewhere and I'll say it again here:
People appreciate open, honest communication. Especially when the bad news is actually good news.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyNah, Nintendo has totally done that before. Holding onto a high-profile but niche re-release so it can be put out during a dry spell is honestly a pretty good business decision if you ask me.
Isn't it just? People have mentioned that a lot of talent from Retro has moved on and 4 will be made by a new generation of employees, but I see that as a good thing too. Fresh ideas guided by a few vets.

So this is going through the FF 7 Remake problem?
Mileena MadnessGood thing they never announced who the original developers were.
The ideal scenario now is Trilogy this year, Mercury Steam's Metroid 5 next year, and Prime 4 2021. If Prime 4 takes longer, bring in the trump card, Pinball HD.
Never, because Nomura isn't helming this one. XD
Now seriously, Nintendo takes their shit seriously when it comes to game quality. Hence Sakamoto ironing the plot progression and interactions when working on Samus Returns after the trainwreck that was Other M's plot.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...Boba wishes he was half the bounty hunter Samus is
How many planets has he blown up? Probably none I’d bet
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhen Samus falls into giant mouths in the floor, she just wriggles and jumps her way out. Boba don't got shit on that.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! It takes him a couple decades.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The Sarlacc is just a tiny bit deeper than a pit in the floor.

Nah if it take muthafucking boba fett longer than metroid prime 4's devolopment to jetpack out than it's gotta be deeper.

you make me want to do terrible things to you~It’s like “learn to space jump noob”
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPlus Boba has to bend at the waist to shoot missiles from his backpack, rather than just shoot them from his arm.
To be fair, Disney ain't doing much with Boba Fett yet. We'll have to settle with Jango Fett or Old Man Rex instead.
As for Metroid Prime 4 getting a do-over with Retro, what did you expect when all we got is just the title and nothing else?
In any case, I hope the new team at Retro is up to the task (people should remember that a developer's name means little without knowing what talent is working in that company). Though Donkey Kong Country is certainly enjoyable, I wonder if they easily slip back into First Person Shooter like a fish in the water considering how long it has been since Prime 3.
Whatever the case may be, give me Meta Kraid or Mecha Kraid! It's been too long since that over-sized green lizard made his appearance in Zero Mission.
I think having Metroid Prime be done by Retro is a good idea for a few reasons. The simplest one is that I think Americans are an ideal choice for a game like Prime. I'd compare Prime to Half-Life or System Shock in terms of style, actually.
Also worth noting is that 23ish of the same people will be working on this game, which means there's some continuity of talent here. And also I'd argue that sometimes a company culture can matter as well even without the same talent. For example, Disney the company still has a specific style that's persisted long after the original members left or died.
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"Insiders were saying that the Metroid Prime Trilogy would be revealed in December (likely at the Game Awards), but with the recent developments, it's easy to see why it would have been pulled.
The logic is that if MP 4 was a lock for release they would have announced the Trilogy to lead up to 4. But the development got stuck, so they decided not to announce anything until they could get a handle on how 4 was going to move forward. Seems like the Trilogy is still coming out but maybe slightly later.

Essentially MP 4 as a project started at the end of 2016/beginning of 2017. Bandai Namco Singapore worked on the pre-production phase which I believe ended before the trailer at E3 was shown. So that's how early Nintendo decided to announce that the game was in development. Game was based on Unreal 4 and was always going to be a 2019 or 2020 release. Bandai Namco Japan was brought on to work on the game and Nintendo studios were also assisting in various areas. From what I heard, Nintendo wanted to push MP 4 to be a flagship title, so increased the budget and scope of the game to try and get it to that AAA level.
Seems things weren't working for this reboot to happen.
If that's true, it's really neat that Nintendo had so much faith in Metroid to try to take it that far. For the past 3-4 years before E3 2017, it really felt like Nintendo was leaving the series for dead.
I maintain my stance that Nintendo wants Metroid to become a Zelda tier franchise.
Although all three are behind Pokemon and now Fire Emblem, Mario Zelda and Metroid has always been the proper Nintendo trinity.
Hey on a completely unrelated note do you think they could release a mobile gave called "Metroid: Save the Galaxy" and, like a Style Savvy with the subtitle or tagline of "Yourself" so all of Nintendo's mobile games' subtitles can be used to spell out "The Heroes Lost! Go Run! Save Yourself!"

But Miitomo didn't have "the" in the title...
How often are Nintendo games based in Unreal? If there's more than I'm aware of then I probably haven't been paying much attention to credits.

A lot of insiders are outright saying Trilogy Switch is done. Nintendo is just sitting on it. Which isn't implausible, as Nintendo is known to do that. Definitely happened with New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe.
