Mega Man is Goku in disguise!
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Eh, I always find Goku is a useful litmus test. If the supposed leak involves him, you can safely disregard the rumor.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I used Ridley the same way.
Ironically the vast majority of the leaks with him on it still ended up being fake thanks to Daisy.
This song needs more love.Personally, I don't want Goku in Smash. I get the same feeling like when I saw Darth Vader in Soul Caliber. It just felt off and honestly more of just a cheap ploy to sell games (which, granted is their main objective). Buy it for this unconnected character's popularity instead of the game itself. Call it being a purist, but I don't want characters like that in Smash. I'd like there to be some connection. Even now, Snake still feels out there but at least he has his original NES games to have some sort of bridge to the others.
Having non-gaming characters in Smash comes off as flavor of the month and honestly alittle lazy. Instead of trying to make established gaming characters work, let's just use name power of non-gaming character X to carry in Smash.
I'd like crossovers to be more organic and justified, not just shock/wow value. Why not add Goku to Street Fighter? He's a fighter and popular.

-Witty line-Come on guys, Goku is in Smash Bros.
He's called Lucario.
EDIT: I just realised this joke was already made, god damn it.

I always find "flavor of the month" arguments to be about as solid as "too large/small". Smash has never shied from that. Roy got in the game in the first place to promote a Fire Emblem game that didn't even get an international release (and, from what I gather, one who doesn't get much reference outside of his original game).
As for my comments about "too large/small" - both Bowser (whose size is pretty variable depending on the game, but who has easily hit over 5 times Mario's height in some games) and Olimar (canonically just 3/4 of an inch tall) ended up getting hit with a height version of Power Creep, Power Seep in order to end up in Smash, so I never bought that as a reason to exclude anyone.
This might be why I was willing to at least listen to Ridley propositions prior to Smash Ultimate, though they were generally too sketchy in other aspects (too FOAF-y) for me to buy them. Then again, I was one of the ones who didn't buy what turned out to be the legit leak of the final roster for the fourth game because of the Duck Hunt Dog, so I'm just skeptical in general.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I'd rather have Goriath as a Goku fake-out.
Prediction: If Ashley is not the next character revealed (to tie in with Warioware Gold), she's not getting in at all.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.... and is then shown frozen in ice.
Well damn...

This is not the greatest signature in the world, no... this is just a tribute.I already made that joke/idea.
So, I just stumbles on good old Isaac supporters, and I kinda feel bad for them. With limited newcomers, Isaac is in a worse spot than before.
Where there's life, there's hope.At least the roster seems to be made up mostly of fan-favorites, so Isaac might get in as a retro pick. Can't really think of any other retro pick who'd be more requested than him, at least.
Honestly, if I was an Isaac fan before Smash 4, saw that Little Mac was promoted to playable and his AT was removed and then saw that Isaac also had his AT removed, I would have concluded he was playable too. I was surprised that his AT was just removed and that's it. I wonder why. He was an AT; I doubt relevancy was in play here.
-Witty line-Sveta plz.
I have a message from another time...Let’s get some Golden Sun love
Legit would be okay with Goku, the salt would be real
If Isaac is made playable, Garet or Ivan seems like the obvious pic for Assist Trophy. Menardi would make a great playable villain pick, but she's almost as unlikely as every other playable character from Golden Sun is. Sveta would be great, but there's at least 6 characters with better odds than her.
Said it before, don't use protagonists as Assist Trophies as a rule. Just use secondary characters from the franchises you already have playable characters in.
Isaac would be fun to play as that much is for sure. Would be worth putting up with all the "ANOTHER SWORD USER!?" complaints just to get my hands on him.
Bleye knows Sabers.Djinn and Psynergy and Summons
I made an Isaac moveset a while back, lemmie see if I can find it...
@Pushover By that, I take it to mean "a retro pick that wasn't already announced in the announcement trailer," because Ridley does have cred back to 1986.
Of all of the 20th century picks one could make from a Nintendo franchise (which would logically eliminate Golden Sun, as that was 2001), I think the picks would potentially be Mike Jones, Medusa (as an Echo Fighter of Palutena), and Lip. For 21st century picks that are arguably retro (for these purposes, I'll say this just excludes anyone that debuted in DS/3DS portable titles as well as Switch and WiiU games), I'll say Isaac, Paper Mario (possibly as an Echo of Mr. Game and Watch), Dillon, and, as an oddball, Barbara the Bat.
Oh, and tangentially related, I predict one of the event matches in the single player mode will involve a whole bunch of Waluigis coming out of Assist Trophies, the goal will be to knock a number of them out, and the description will specifically reference a meme about his presence (or lack thereof) in the game.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.... How would Paper Mario be an Echo of Game & Watch? How does that make any sense?
I’m okay with that
Yesterday I dreamed about Goku in Smash. He was wearing a weird blue Power Armor.
Where there's life, there's hope.
