  • Alternate Character Interpretation:
    • While Tai isn't given new flaws, many of the traits V-Tamer presented as strengths are reinterpreted as weaknesses due to the context of Adventure.
    • Due to how little the Digidestined themselves have a say in whether or not to fight, how true was Matt's accusation of Gennai using blackmail to force them into fighting?
  • Evil Is Cool: Many of the villains have this reaction from the readers due to their competence.
    • Machinedramon is one for the Digi-History books. He's able to outwit Tai, and successfully take control over the Dark Masters while making the organization stronger by creating a Badass Crew of four new Mega-level Digimon and turning himself into Chaosdramon X, and came the closest to defeating the Digidestined.
    • Myotismon as well, he's the first person to get the better of the Digidestined and outsmart Tai and manages to use his defeats to become even stronger.
    • Keramon was two steps ahead of Gennai, the chosen children and their partners. Would have stayed that way if not for the involvement of Neo Saiba and Sigma.
  • Growing the Beard: The first two arcs suffered from problems with bad punctuation and grammar while following the Stations of the Canon with Tai acting as a Spotlight-Stealing Squad and his tactics making the other characters irrelevant, but just like in canon the story became infinitely better when Myotismon appears with the plot going into an original direction, the grammar becoming much better, the rest of the Digidestined beginning to get Character Development and become more badass, the V-Tamer parts of the story starting to affect the plot, and the fight scenes improving.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Ogremon and Andromon suffered a Death by Adaptation in here. Digimon Adventure: (2020) would have the same fate happen to them both. Even the deaths in there are quite similar.
    • Ogremon would supposedly die in a Heroic Sacrifice helping the Digidestined. He would also return in a stronger form in a later episode, minus the dying again part.
    • Andromon would directly attack one of the Digidestined against his will before dying as himself thanks to a new Digivolution's debut caused by the attacked child. In here, it is due to Sora and Biyomon Biomerging into Phoenixmon and Lilymon in the 2020 anime.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Machinedramon is revealed to be the MetalGreymon Neo Saiba deleted back in V-Tamer. Digimon Adventure: (2020) has Machinedramon be Agumon's Dark Ultimate transformation. This fic called the connection around 5 years early.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • Despite being data beings, injuries on Digimon are shown to be much more visceral throughout the story, sometimes even replicating blood by showing them in a dark red tint.
    • MaloMyotismon's debut. The jaws on his shoulders are shown to have rotting flesh dripping down from them with his power allowing him to effortlessly dispatch his opponents, who are all Perfect level, in one hit. It is also revealed later on that he gained a Healing Factor by draining the energy of the kidnapped people kept in the Sports Center which includes Digidestined's parents, meaning that they can't even damage MaloMyotismon due to him taking them hostage.
    • The hostage situation with Puppetmon. Matt asks for TK back from Puppetmon, which he obliges while secretly planting his strings on TK. So when he threw TK to Matt, he yanked back the strings that were on TK's head, fully intending on snapping his neck. If it wasn't for Cherrymon replacing him with one of his arms at the last moment due to Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal with his illusion powers, TK would have died for real. Matt's reaction to what is supposedly his little brother's corpse and his subsequent behaviour says it all.
    • Sora getting impaled by HiAndromon. By the time she is conscious, she is already lying in a pool of her own blood. She would have died if it wasn't for Biomerging with Biyomon to become Phoenixmon. This is the fic's biggest aversion of the humans' Plot Armor.
    • Apocalymon is made up of all the Digimon who died during the events of both V-Tamer and Adventure. Before the Final Battle, he torments the Digidestined by having their dead allies' faces appear all over his body screaming to them for help.
    • Due to absorbing Myotismon's data to prevent him coming back, WarGreymon goes absolutely ballistic due to resorting to using his data for a critical attack, hacking away at his enemy's corpse when he is already dead in the final chapter. While the Digidestined managed to calm him down afterwards, time will tell if he will relapse again...
  • Shocking Moments: Chapter 22 might have exceeded this. The result is that the Adventure team is just as strong as they were during the season finale of Digimon Adventure. Specifically in somewhat chronologically order, Myotismon revives as MaloMyotismon instead of VenomMyotismon. Angemon digivolves to MagnaAngemon. The kids nearly defeat Myotismon, but he starts regenerating. Tai and Matt then Biomerge with their partners and kill him again using WarGreymon's ability to tell where his Healing Factor is coming from and going all out when it is removed.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
    • Gorillamon. He's introduced as a Social Darwinist antagonist that believes power is everything, but Tai convinces him that good strategy can overcome power and that the strong should protect the weak, causing him to pull a Heel–Face Turn and oppose the Dark Masters, but dies against Cherrymon before he can really contribute.
    • The V-Tamer cast. Due to them losing their partner Digimon by the time of the fic's start and not being able to access the Digital World, they could only show up during the Myotismon arc and the final chapter as a cameo and/or a supporting role. This was somewhat rectified in the sequel due to Digital World access being no longer as restrictive resulting in more screentime in the human world which allows them to contribute more from there.
