- Complete Monster: Harry Reikle is a psychopath who, disguised as Santa Claus, tries to rob a bank. When Miles Cullen catches wind of his scheme and takes most of it for himself, only giving Reikle a small portion of it, and Reikle figures out the ruse, Reikle beats and rapes a teenage girl, with it being stated that he's done this to at least one other teenage girl. Upon being let out of jail, he breaks into Miles's house and brutally tortures Elaine to death for her betrayal, threatening to do the same to Miles unless he hand over the money. When he believes Miles has complied with his demands, he attempts to kill him anyway out of spite.
- Magnificent Bastard: Miles Cullen is a clever bank teller who discovers a note stating the writer's intention to rob his bank and expertly deduces the identity of the would-be thief as Harry Reikle. Using the opportunity to take the money himself, Miles utterly outplays Reikle by coming up with different hiding places for the cash while seeing Reikle only get a small portion of it and eventually masterminding his rival's arrest. Confronting Reikle when he gets out of jail, Miles tricks him into meeting at the bank, allegedly to give Reikle the money, only to then trick Reikle once more, planning to move far away with his loot.
