• Hilarious in Hindsight: Libya as the country that the President told Dr. Schaefer he was worried about seemed weirdly random and funny in 1967. After Muammar Gaddafi took over in 1969, and particularly with his provocations against the US in The '80s, the President's concern turned out to be very justified.

• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Almost a decade before his breakout role as Schneider on One Day at a Time, Pat Harrington Jr. appears here playing the small-but-pivotal part of Arlington Hewes.
  • Arte Johnson (pre-Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In) plays an FBR agent.
  • William Daniels (St. Elsewhere) plays "typical American" Winn Quantrill.
• Unintentional Period Piece: The scenes with the hippies. Also, that "Dizzy Gillespie for President" t-shirt that Don wears in the opening scene. Gillespie did in fact conduct a tongue-in-cheek presidential campaign in 1964.
