  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Rachael is ripe for interpretation. Did she feel anything for Jeff? It's notably after conning him that she turns her back on Hidell. Did she love him or just like him enough to feel bad about what she's doing? Or was he just the last straw in a series of victims? For that matter, did Jeff feel anything for her or did he just see her as something to own? Even the actors themselves have different opinions; Rebecca Rose Flynn felt that they simply needed each other at that moment in time, while Bobby Calloway felt Jeff at least was madly in love with Rachael.
  • Awesome Music:
    • Sleep Thieves "Is This Ready?", both in the trailer and a montage halfway through the film. Haunting and eerie, it sets up the tension perfectly.
    • "Counterfeit" by Le Group Fantastique, which plays over the sequence of nabbing Vadik from the club. It's the perfect neo noir anthem, with an air of Cyberpunk too.
  • Do Not Do This Cool Thing: Jeff's method of scamming desperate singles is an incredibly nasty thing to do, but damn if it is effective.
  • Evil Is Cool: There's no denying that Hidell with his Big Fancy House, always being one step ahead of everyone and how easily he's able to fool people is very cool.
  • Funny Moments:
    • When discussing how best to find Vadik in the club, Jeff theorises that he'll probably be "low key" or "the quiet type". Gilligan Cut to Vadik wearing a pair of mad neon glasses, dancing wildly and drunk out of his mind.
    • Vadik tells Cormac that transport will be waiting for him. When Cormac goes to the location, it turns out it's a single bicycle. That he then has to cycle all the way out into the countryside.
    • Cormac's Refuge in Audacity, claiming that his job is tree surgeon.
    • Jeff's email to one of his admirers claims he's suffering from back problems. The voiceover for this plays over him not only doing yoga, but sticking his leg behind his head!
    • After Vadik has escaped, giving Jeff a good punch in the face, we cut to him and Cormac on the couch and the former has a bag of frozen peas nursing his head.
"I think your safe house has just been invalidated."
    • Cormac can't resist throwing some snark even when he's being held up at gunpoint. Both his "you mad whore" and "you kinky fucker" were ad-libs by Aidan O'Sullivan.
  • Genius Bonus: The villain is called Hidell, and Kian suggests it might not be his real name. 'Hidell' was one alias used by Lee Harvey Oswald, who famously assassinated President John F Kennedy.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Jeff previously tried to publish a book and got repeated rejections. Bobby Calloway later announced that he was working on a novel titled Young Blood, which he actually started writing while filming Spears.
  • One-Scene Wonder:
    • Kaireht Yovera appears halfway through the film to play a High-Class Call Girl. Her screen presence was so striking that she was featured prominently in a tie-in music video for "Counterfeit" by Le Groupe Fantastique.
    • James Mackenzie has three scenes as Scanlon, but is an extremely memorable Deadpan Snarker.
