  • Actor-Inspired Element:
    • The script said Jeff would do push-ups for the cutaway gag when he's writing an email about chronic back pain. When Gerard Lough found out about Bobby Calloway's yoga experience, he had him do various poses and put his leg behind his head.
    • Bobby Calloway also suggested Rebecca Rose Flynn, Thomas Sharkey, Kaireht Yovera and James Mackenzie for their respective parts.
  • Actor-Shared Background:
    • Rebecca Rose Flynn has a dance background, just like Rachael.
    • Bobby Calloway is also a writer and artist, like Jeff.
  • California Doubling: Averted! The scenes in Florence, Berlin and London were all filmed on location. As were the Donegal scenes.
  • Missing Trailer Scene: The tie-in music video for "Counterfeit" contains shots of Cormac and Ashaki that aren't in the finished film.
  • Playing Against Type: Rebecca Rose Flynn was usually cast as Girl Next Doors or dramatic heroines, making Rachael slightly different for her.
  • Production Posse: Aidan O'Sullivan, Nigel Brennan and Michael Parle had all starred in Gerard Lough's previous film Night People.
  • Real Life Writes the Hairstyle: Jeff's haircut came about because Bobby Calloway thought it would be easier to match continuity with a buzzcut.
  • Those Two Actors: Kaireht Yovera and Bobby Calloway also starred together in High and Tight and The Gumdrops. The latter also starred Rebecca Rose Flynn.
  • Throw It In!:
    • Aidan O'Sullivan improvised Cormac throwing the cable ties at Jeff after he finds him on the kitchen floor.
    • The purple leather jacket that Ashaki wears was something the producer had lying around and spontaneously suggested it for the scene.
  • Typecasting:
    • Michael Parle is often cast as sinister, intimidating villains.
    • James Mackenzie had played a similar gangster character in Belfast Calibre 9.
