Black Sheep Hit: "Testure" was deliberately written to be one, meant to be more danceable and radio-friendly than usual so that it's anti-animal testing message could be spread far and wide. In practice, it doesn't really sound all that different from their usual stuff, with the exception of the unbelievably hideous lyrics, which for once are comprehensible enough for the poor listener to understand.
Broken Base: Rabies as a whole, despite having the universally-adored "Worlock", gets some flak from a sizable portion of fans, partly due to the Industrial Metal stylings of many tracks, and partly due to the involvement of Al Jourgensen, who some go as far as to levy the accusation of "killing" Goettel by introducing him and the band to heroin.
Fandom Rivalry: Their fandom has had one with Nine Inch Nails for decades now. You'll probably be much better off if you avoid mentioning the latter in front of die-hard fans of the former. This is not reflected in the artists themselves; Trent Reznor has been very open about both his admiration for and influence by Skinny Puppy, and the two bands would tour together during the VIVIsectVI era, with Ogre and Reznor also playing together in the supergroup Pigface.
Ho Yay: Ogre's friendship with Al Jourgensen, during the late 80s and early 90s. Photos like◊ these◊ say it all. The cherry on top, though, was cEvin's statement about said friendship. It apparently made him feel like "a wife that's been cheated on." Subtle.
