• Memetic Badass: Given his reputation for skill in Super Mario 64 and its ROM hacks, he's the guy to make a Shout-Out to when pulling off cool strats in these games.
• Memetic Mutation: Plenty.
  • 1, 2, Oatmeal.^Explanation The Super Smash Bros. 64 arrangement of Gourmet Race with nonsensical, offkey lyrics, sung by German YouTuber mariofan888, which is often donated to annoy Simple. Occasionally, a song will suddenly become 1, 2, Oatmeal, or even be an entirely different song with Oatmeal's lyrics.
  • Great entertainer he is.^Explanation A copypasta often used by the community, which can be changed to fit whatever situation Simple is in. The entire message is, "I finally caught a SimpleFlips stream. He spent [x] hours trying to [y] and then fell asleep live on stream. Great entertainer he is!
  • BUP.^Explanation A memetic image and sound effect often used in the community. The meme itself originates from "Super Releasio 64," a ROM hack where every texture was replaced with Toad's face, and every sound effect was replaced with Toad saying "BUP," which itself is a small segment of a sound from Mario Kart 64.
  • Sam, the Dancing Matzo Man.^Explanation A very bizarre (albeit quite catchy) song featuring a mascot for Streit's (a kosher food company). It came from this video, where it was repeatedly donated, much to Simple's annoyance.
  • First try, idiot!^Explanation Frequently said by Simple after spending several minutes trying to do something.
  • Gay Baby Jail.^Explanation Simple's term for a softlock.
• Self-Imposed Challenge: Simpleflips often imposes these upon himself just for style points. The most famous of which is the Green Demon Challenge where he starts every level in Super Mario 64 with a flying 1-Up Mushroom following him that kills him, and has to collect every star under this single condition.
• So Bad, It's Good: Simple and his community have this opinion of Oatmeal remixes, though that's usually just a symptom of the original song actually being bearable outweighing having to listen to Oatmeal, or the creator making an active attempt to fix the original Oatmeal's strange intonation and offkey singing.
