- Awesome Music: One of the movie's strongest points. Compared to the original the soundtrack for this film is worthy of a Friday the 13th sequel, complete with ominous new theme for the Micmac burial ground and a rock song for the credits ("Poison Heart" by Dee Dee Ramone of The Ramones).
- Heartwarming Moments: Seeing Tiger survived at the end shines a bit of light on what is otherwise a very dark movie.
- Just Here for Godzilla: The Evil Is Hammy antics of Gus and the excellent soundtrack are the main reasons why anyone still enjoys this film.
- Moral Event Horizon: Gus was no doubt a horrible stepfather to Drew, but he undeniably crossed it when he shot Zowie (Drew's dog) all because he was being disruptive.
- Narm: Even more so than the first film, particularly in the "death by potato truck" scene.
- Nausea Fuel / Nightmare Fuel: Plenty of it to go around.
- The scene where the woman and her two daughters find the gruesome remains of the kittens resurrected Zowie killed and ate.
- Resurrected Gus almost inflicts an Eye Scream on Chase via power drill before drilling into his shoulder.
- Resurrected Renee killing the babysitter Marjorie via scissors to the eye. And then Chase turns over the body for a gory Eye Scream shot.
- Resurrected Renee's melting face at the end.
- Sequelitis: Few consider it as good or even half the film the original was, though a few enjoy it for its over-the-top nature and excellent soundtrack.
- So Bad, It's Good: The attitude held by this movie's fans.
- Stoic Woobie: Jeff at first, before he goes Jumping Off the Slippery Slope.
- Squick: It stays over from the original.
- Tear Jerker: Drew finding his dog Zowie after Wicked Stepfather Gus shot him, then sadly pulling the bloody dog onto his lap and cradling him in his last moments.
- Also, one of the first things we see is a dog being euthanized.
