• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Kotone and Yu showing up on Jan. 10th, 2016 in the LTE version of the story. A neat Big Damn Heroes moment and shows Flash what a Level 99 Wild Card Persona user can do, but there's no real explanation as to why they're there, how they got there or even what they're doing working together in the first place.
• Broken Base:
  • The development of Cadance and Shining Armor's respective arcs has led to a lot of discussion and discontent among part of the readership. Particularly, where it pertains to the former's massive libido and its affecting her ability to be faithful to her husband: it was bad enough when she got drunk and decided to blow Flash to vent her emotional and sexual frustrations; but the Spring Break arc, in which Shining comes to Flash and outright says that he expects her to sleep around, and asks Flash to "watch out for her" if she does, has really brought it to a boil. Some readers interpret the situation as open sexually but emotionally committed; others insist that Shining Armor's sacrifice is greater than Cadance's by remaining completely faithful, but allowing her to sleep with people they're both very close to. Since the first-person narrative is not privy to their private conversations on the matter, it all comes down to reader interpretation of how comfortable and committed the marriage is for both of them.
  • Likewise, Flash and Fluttershy's interaction after The Reveal that she is Eris. Some fans think Flash is being far too harsh towards her and he needs to make amends. Other fans think Flash is perfectly justified, seeing as she A: started it and B: has done far worse things to him (like trying to kill him) than he has done to her.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: In this story, Twilight's Persona is Athena. Almost a year after the conception of this story, we got the season 5 episode "Scare-Master", where Twilight Sparkle's Nightmare Night costume is...Athena.
  • A Cellphone App used to go to another world to fight Shadows, is downloaded automatically into your phone (and can't be deleted), and can pull you into the other world by someone else using it even without your input?
  • In this story, the group realize pretty late into their investigation that they could have been using their phones to take pictures of Zodiac as proof, only being unable to do so when they are threatened with blackmail. In Persona 5, the main group try to take photos with their phones to use as proof as early as their second visit to a Palace, only to realize their camera apps are useless in Palaces.
• Moral Event Horizon: Sunset raping Flash.
• Nightmare Fuel: Shadow Octavia. There are several other examples but good GOD, Shadow Octavia is one of the most prominent.
• Unexpected Character: Who would have thought Flash's parents would be a S-Link? And the World at that?
  • Sunset as a S-Link?
  • Who would have thought that Starlight Glimmer, the Shadow 5, and Moon Dancer would all make an appearance together so late in the story?
  • To a lesser extent, there was very little foreshadowing until December that Sonata was showing up.
