• Older Than They Think: M.exe^note who was originally called Monster Mario or simply Mario.exe, but the author changed his name because of the "M" on the cap extending beyond its circle actually comes from an unpublished comic made by J.McCormick himself, called Mushroom Kingdom Nightmare, which takes place in an Alternate Universe where the original Mario has his modern colour palette, but is made in the style of Super Mario Bros. (and the world around him has a style resembling Super Mario World). In this comic, Mario gets possessed by a demonic parasite called Mephisto (yes, like the demon; also called Marphisto, and the real owner of the "M" in "M.exe")^note Even before him, his role was originally played by Zalgo, and is forced to kill almost everyone in the world. Luigi and Toad become the only survivors, and were supposed to confront the demon to save the world. In this new story, Luigi was killed, and the survivors are now Daisy, Toad and Bowser Jr. The comic artstyle was... something, so a separated character from M.exe was created from it, taking the form of Mareo.xe.
