- Americans Hate Tingle: The property has never had the same success in America, perhaps due to its being considered too tied to its regional setting. Waterhouse and Hall's play and John Barry's musical version were both hits in London but neither of them were ever done on Broadway. The Sitcom version did get a 1979 Americanized adaptation starring Steve Guttenberg, but it only lasted six episodes.
- One-Scene Wonder: Julie Christie only gets twelve minutes of screen time, but the small part of Liz helped her career enormously.
- Retroactive Recognition:
- A jeweller's assistant is played by Robin Parkinson, who would later be best known for playing the third LeClerc in 'Allo 'Allo!.
- A telephonist is played by Sheila Fearn, who would later be best known for playing Audrey Collier in The Likely Lads and Ann Fourmile in George & Mildred.
