YMMV / Artery Gear: Fusion

Go To

  • Complacent Gaming Syndrome: There are several units considered 'core' units in the game.
    • Grace is often regarded as the best cleaver and fodder farmer, capable of tearing through many stages on her own. She has a free innate 30% crit chance and crit resist. Whenever Grace kills any enemy on field, the cooldown of her ultimate resets. Paired with the fact that triggering a critical hit advances her own action bar, Grace is incredibly easy to gear and capable of taking on many stages on her own. The cherry on top is that she's only a 3*, and the costs to upgrade her are lower than those of a 4* or 5*. Grace is a character that gives you the most bang for your buck.
    • Alice is another indispensible member of any team. Her short cooldown on her second skill allows her to give her allies many, many extra turns, helping your units to deal much more damage to the enemy than they would without her. Her other skills are not bad, either: her third skill can lower the speed of all enemies on field, and her basic attacks increase the action bar of one random ally, helping your units get their turn back quicker ahead of enemy units.
    • Morris is an extremely solid healer that all new players get for free. Her third skill heals and cleanses all debuffs on all of your units, and her second skill can be used to advance any of your units' action bars by 50%. When used on herself, Morris can pump out heals and cleanses like no tomorrow.
    • In addition, the speed set is a gear set that is almost always run over any other set. Speed is an important stat that determines who starts first and how fast your units get their turn back. The only sources of speed are on the thruster gear piece, substats, and the speed set. Compared to other target elimination bosses, the Centaur boss that drops speed equipment is also the easiest boss with no gimmicks. All this means that a solid 90% of Artery Gears use the speed set.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Sirius and Nina are very popular, as they are currently the only units (besides main character Nio) with more than two skins. Nina even got two skins for free from events!
  • Fandom Rivalry: Fans of Artery Gear do not generally get along with fans of Epic Seven due to accusations of Artery Gear being too similar to Epic Seven. Epic Seven players argue that their game came first and gives more premium currency, while Artery Gear players argue that the offline battles and better gear system makes it the superior game.
  • Fan Nickname:
    • 'Lewdisia' for Lewisia.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • Clarice can provide immunity, boost critical chance, push action bar and buff attack for one other unit all at once. To top it off, Clarice also grants herself invincibility for one turn, rendering counterattacks useless against her. She is generally considered the most broken support character.
    • Lila Decyrus buffs critical chance and advances action bars for the entire party, and is then free to take an extra turn to absolutely pummel an enemy with her ultimate's insane scalings. What makes it even better is critical hits from other party members also advance Lila's own action bar, which is now easier than ever to accomplish thanks to Lila's buff. Unlike most other DPS units, Lila can forgo building speed entirely and go all out on attack and critical damage, making her hit even harder.
    • Stylet can effortlessly gain and maintain an evasion buff that allows her to dodge many attacks, shrugging off damage easily. Whenever she dodges, she gains an attack and speed buff before she counters with a hard-hitting attack of her own. Her unique equipment increases her counterattack damage and gives her Core Break on her ultimate. Stylet is an absolute beast that is capable of soloing the hardest bosses on her own if given a lifesteal set.
    • Madoka Kaname has an innate 60% defence penetration on her third skill that increases to a maximum of 85% with her unique equipment, allowing her to instantly delete every enemy on the field. She also cleanses two debuffs off herself at the start of her own turn, making debuffing her almost useless. Madoka is also capable of buffing her own attack and advancing her own action bar. Fittingly, she managed to shift the meta in Player Versus Player all by herself.
  • Narm: In the Kaguya in the Distance event, the tearjerking effect of a sad scene is destroyed by the somewhat silly English translation of crying as "woo toot toot."
  • Nightmare Fuel: In Ending B of the "Fall of the Bifrost" event, Lily reveals she is seeking vengeance for her treatment at the hands of the aristocrats of Autoluna. As a commoner she was made into an Artery Gear to be a "tool of entertainment." She leaves the details vague, but hints it went beyond the usual sex slavery into some sort of horrific abuse as AGs only need their brain and core to survive. Although she got some perks as compensation, it doesn't appear to have been a consensual situation. It's further implied that Sylvia's father and/or grandfather were behind the situation since Lily's childhood. "Farewell to Asgard" reveals Lord Neptune sent young Sylvia away when she became concerned about her friend's bullying, and even into adulthood, Sylvia's father made Lily a "secret diplomat" and bought her the house in Bifrost.
  • That One Boss: The Octopus of Lava Land has been subjected to many cries for nerfs. It can increase its own attack and defense, and can debuff all of your Artery Gears with its devastating AOE attack. It also has a horde of lower Puppets that will counterattack and debuff your units should you use any single-target attack on the Octopus itself. To top it all off, unlike the other bosses, these lesser Puppets are able to revive even if you kill them off. You'd better bring a tank that can share the team's damage, a healer that can cleanse your debuffs, and/or a bulky attacker, and even then the Octopus is capable of wiping them all out.
  • They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Artery Gear has received frequent comparisons with Epic Seven due to extremely similar turn-based gameplay, presentation and character kits.
