Main Story
Chapter 5
- The reunion of Rela and Mel. Rela had spent two chapters believing Mel dead. When Mel's revealed to still be alive, Rela embraces Mel in a tearful hug.
Chapter 8
- Fiel was initially a citizen of Autoluna that bought into its propaganda of the forces on the ground. Yet, the instant she realises she was wrong, Fiel risks life and limb to record the actual happenings of war, determined to uphold the truth at all costs. By Chapter 9, her former bullies find this effort so inspiring they join her in her cause.
Chapter 10
- Della still living, and Fiel crying as she reunites with her. Despite the fact that Della is a Puppet and lost some memories, the moment was still worth it on Fiel's part.
- On a recon mission, it turned out that Della and the other Puppets under the Twins' control are just robotic copies acting according to data gathered about their former living selves; the Yuyi they meet later is likewise the same. This all seems to be the usual setup of the tragedies of war... then Fiel gets the idea to use Component O to revive Della and Yuyi. And it works, no literal strings attached this time.
Events
Run, Pavonis!
- As ironically hilarious as it is that the people who effectively agreed to the Commander's replacement by Pavonis included Nio, their most loyal Artery Gear bar none, her own contract—besides getting video games and consoles—included making the Commander "spare 86 hours every week to work with [Nio], play with [Nio], or rest with [Nio] (resting time not counted towards the 86 hours)", all for the sake of a long vacation together. Meanwhile, Rela signed up for an improved salary—a 6000% raise Pavonis doesn't bat an eye at amongst other things!—that will go into savings meant for a post-war retirement dedicated to herself and the Commander.
Heroes' Counterattack
- When Alma starts to lose faith in humanity from the constant warring it goes through even to this day and the AI Center's seemingly prophetic words, the Commander gets her back up with his beliefs, saying the AI misunderstood the tenacity of human nature and remains hopeful for the future.Commander: "The people on the Ground gathered together. When the war actually ends, we can definitely build a better world."Alma: "But we might fail again."Commander: "What's the matter? We don't have to succeed this time. The idea will be passed on and the future generations can find a better way, or they can also try again and again. Passing their ideas on like we do."
- Crosses with Tear Jerker for something that happens in the future; at the end of the event, Alma has been forcefully converted into a Purifier and her memories tampered with once more, this time to view Diana as the Commander. Since then as of Chapter 10 and 12, she's become a Knight Templar Overzealous Underling that treats everyone with needless cruelty... but during the climax ending of Chapter 12, she clashes with forces from Zhimin and her mask, the same one the Commander gave her, gets knocked off, making Xingyao Liu note aloud that it belongs to the Commander. The mention of their name jogs Alma's memories until she frees herself of the brainwashing, then she stands down and demands to know where the Commander is. It was a shame what happened to her, but the sun rose for her alright.
Character Stories
Others
- The game's own Sign-in event. They're becoming an increasingly common feature in gacha games for players who want to take a break before returning, but Artery Gear is perhaps the first of its kind to have a story dedicated to what happens if their hero really did take a break in-universe while their subordinates and allies are left to their own devices (although it's not as bad as it sounds).
- The members of the Union Fleet and your allies in other factions express concern at your sudden hibernation (how the game interprets the player taking a break), but leave you be since they're aware that the Commander deserves a break from their work. Once you're back up, Nio, Rela, Mel and 04 greet you and are glad to see the Commander awake, then give them a recording of everyone's well-wishes, a present of resources they collected during your hibernation, and finally a slip signed by everyone that gives them a chance not to be disturbed; Nio bids them to use this rather than hibernate without warning and worrying everyone.
