The soccer ball from Touhou Soccer is the container of the remaining Hourai Elixir
Kaguya had leftovers. Why else is that ball immune to anything and everything thrown at it, including 4 master sparks at once, Flandre, Gungnir, Patchouli/Alice/Marisa combo, the Hakurei Barrier, Shinki's hair, Eiki's judgement attack, Youmu's moon-destroying swords, thousands of explosions, beating through several people, and lots of other stuff? It regenerates instantly due to the Hourai Elixir. The Soccer Ball is actually Reimu's Yin-Yang Orb painted over for the occasion. That's how it survives every city-razing blast it receives.

A-Universe predictions for sidegame/manga characters
With Sunny Milk (Scarlet)'s introduction, that opens the floodgates for other side characters to feel effects of the unresolved incidents. This will include universes not covered yet by the game.
- For the other two Fairies of Light, maybe a Luna Child from A8 (Eternal) will appear, with her association with the moon, while a Star Sapphire from A9 (Flower) would feel the presences of the flower spirits. Alternatively, they'll join their pal Sunny Milk with Scarlet versions of themselves, likely as fairy maids along with her.
- As Suika Ibuki can make herself into mist, what if her mist mixes with the scarlet mist from A6 (Scarlet)?
- For potential A14 (Shining) characters, as the incident involves inanimate objects gaining wills of their own as well as rebelling small youkai, Kosuzu Motoori may be trying to wrangle her books, while Hata no Kokoro will also feel the incident's effects through her masks. Also, could that be Hieda no Akyuu trying to tame and work alongside her brush?
- A UFO in A12 (Fantastic) would pique the interest of Sumireko Usami. Expect some references to aliens, such as Crop Circles.
- For the potential A18 universe, with character cards being involved as well as the sale of these cards, Jo'on Yorigami will definitely take advantage of it. Expect these cards to be used in her attacks.
- Yuuma Toutetsu watches over the Eagle spirits, so she may be potentially affected by an unresolved incident affecting A17.
- Shion Yorigami may end up as a pure spirit of misfortune if she finds herself affected by an unresolved incident in A15. Alternatively, if we want to include other residents of the Lunar Capital for potential A15 alts, Reisen (not the Eientei one) or the Watatsuki sisters are possible.
- The abundance of flowers in A9 (Flower) and the mix of seasons in A16 would be an opportunity that Hatate Himekaidou will use for her thoughtography. Judging by how her rival Aya is involved in both incidents (the latter as an incident resolver), this may be how she finds that Aya failed to resolve the one in A16.
As for those from the mainline games, Alice and Yuuka's Scarlet versions open the floodgates further. Even those who already have Type-A universes are not exempt!
- Cirno's tanned version from the 16th installment could very well be a possibility, if she's not celebrating a prolonged winter in A7.
- Also a possibility for A16: Lily White, Letty Whiterock, and the Aki sisters could be bursting with seasonal energy.
- A8 (Eternal), in which night never ends, could be seen as a boon for Rumia (a youkai of darkness) and the Scarlet sisters (vampires). Also potentially affected is Kagerou Imaizumi (a werewolf); how would a false moon affect her wolf transformations?
- The surge of vengeful spirits in A11 (Subterranean) could affect other Hell dwellers and workers: the yama Eiki Shiki, the boat driver Komachi Oonozuka, and the Animal Realm inhabitants.
- The Lunar invasion in A15 may affect Kaguya Houraisan, a Lunar Capital exile, as well as Tewi Inaba and the earth rabbits. For those that took part in Lunatic Kingdom, Eirin Yagokoro may be looking for another measure when the Ultramarine Orb Elixir proves not to be enough, while Reisen Udonge Inaba tries to help her with prototype countermeasures.
- Youmu Konpaku, a half-phantom, may find herself dealing with her Ironic Fear in A11 (surge of vengeful spirits) or A13 (surge of divine spirits). A potential A17 would not be unheard of, as she was a playable option in Wily Beast and Wicked Creature and may have to get used to the animal spirits.
- A youkai rebellion in A14 may give Medicine Melancholy, a doll brought to life in a prior incident, the push she needs to liberate dolls and have them join the ensuing rebellion.
- Aside from other beast youkai, an unresolved incident in A19 could affect the Komeiji siblings as one of their pets, Rin, is involved. Since the incident started with disappearing ownership, Chimata Tenkyuu may have some explaining to do.
There may even be multiple iterations of a character per A-type universe, as noted by the A7 variants of Reimu, Marisa, and Sakuya, with that in mind, here are some other possible alternate variants...
- Assuming that they are contingent on shot-types or similar differences, a potential A11 Reimu and Marisa could be split into three different variants, based on their shot-types: the A11A variants being the versions who teamed up with Yukari and Alice, respectively, the A11B variants being the versions who teamed up with Suika and Patchouli respectively, and the A11C variants being the versions who teamed up with Aya and Nitori respectively.
- A potential A17 Reimu, Marisa and Youmu could be split into three variants each, potentially A17E, A17O and A17W, with the difference being which animal spirit the protagonist chose to team up with (E=Eagle, O=Otter and W=Wolf), and the animal spirits influencing the character's shots and spell cards, as in WB&WC. Other characters in this universe may also have these different variants if possessed by different animal spirits.
- A14 could bring us two variants of Reimu, Marisa, and Sakuya, one using bewitched items (possibly A14A) and one not (possibly A14B).
Rinnosuke will be playable, but there's a catch.
While many would love to see Rinnosuke be playable, he has stated in-game that he doesn't involve himself in bullet battles, being a man. That leaves only one workaround: a version of him...as a girl, natural or otherwise. Bonus points if the universe designation has a 63 in it.
Alternate Timeline units based on famous fanworks
With how B3 Yorihime is jokingly called HTA Yorihime, perhaps we can get units based on other famous fanworks.
- EX-Rumia. May come from the same universe type (T type for Tear Jerker?) as Alive!Yoshika.
- IOSYS alts, such as Perfect Math Class Cirno, Precious Thing Marisa or OVERDRIVE Reisen (may need to change B3 Reisen’s spell card theme as a result as she uses OVERDRIVE). M type universes.
- White Reimu. Uses G Free as her battle theme.
The Marisa Kirisame (Draconic Black Magic Knight) is causing the Lost Word Incidents to try and contain the Capital.
The Capital is spreading its influence/control out among the various alternate worlds. We heard from Hecatia (C3) that the Eternal Summer world is being used to store the Capital's water, and presumably the others the Capital has connected to are being used the same way. Marisa (Draconic) may be trying to 'wall off' their expansion by creating Lost Words and making impassable barriers with the fallen worlds.- At risk of being jossed. In Chapter 4 Part 3, she stated that she and the other masterminds wanted to make a new world for themselves. She mentioned nothing about the Capital.
Chapter 3 EX will feature the characters representing the Seven Hakus
With the surroundings of Hakugyoku being inhospitable due to spirits, a logical place would be in the realm of the Seven Hakus. Another option for alts would be the fairy combatants: the physical combat versions of Cirno, Daiyousei, and Lily White, and the incident resolving Fairies of Light.
