WMG / Gen V

Go To

Unmarked spoilers for The Boys, the main series and Gen V may be present throughout this subpage.

Read at your own risk.

John Godolkin is a Greater-Scope Villain
Just hopefully with less child diddling.
  • Kind of confirmed? It was mentioned by Dean Shetty that the University was founded by John Godolkin as a way to develop psychological profiles on Supes to make it easier for Vought to control them.

Justine's superpower
Justine may be a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing but that does not require superpowers. Whichever they may be, they have not been revealed throughout the first three episodes. Which means...they are bound to play a big role in a latter episode. Guesses to Justine's power can be added here:
  • Justine's superpower is rage inducement, meaning she can make others angry with her mind.
  • Alternatively, her power is hypnotic charm.
  • Or she has Healing Hands. Ironically, a power associated with humble heroes in the hands of a selfish jerk.
  • Justine may have the power of memory erasure.
    • Partially jossed, as Justine's known power is a healing factor, but keyword being partially because even though she's revealed to have a healing factor, there's nothing yet indicating that is her only power. So she might have any of the additional powers listed on this WMG or some other supplementary powers.

Cate is behind the memory gaps
Despite showcasing the younger side of the main cast pretty thoroughly, episode 5 didn't show any of Cate. She could easily use her powers to tell them to 'forget x thing/x stretch of time'. What her motive is remains to be seen though...
  • Confirmed.

Jordan is sterile while in female form, cannot get pregnant

Baby girls are born with thousands of undeveloped eggs. As women age, a few eggs mature and most degenerate, until they lose all and menopausia ensues. Jordan was born a boy, so never had eggs to begin with. When changing form, all existing cells in the body rearrange into the female form, but no eggs are created from zero.

Alternatively, Jordan CAN get pregnant in female form.... thanks to Vought's genetic engineering.
The challenge would be staying pregnant long enough. Jordan would have to stay in female form for nine months, which they might find intolerable. But if it serves Vought's purposes, they are evil enough to force or coerce Jordan...
  • To add evil on top of the evil that's already there, Vought is most likely also evil enough to use synthesized semen from Rufus, taken BEFORE Rufus got his dick blown off.

The virus that the scientists in "The Woods" are trying to develop is a very, VERY loose adaptation of the Crossed virus.

Marie’s "benefactor" mentioned by Dean Shetty in Ep. 5 is none other than Stan Edgar.
  • Jossed, it's Victoria Neuman.

Marie will have a major role in the death of Homelander in Season 4 of The Boys, if not being the one to kill him herself.
Blood-bending is an extremely versatile power, and it has already been established that Marie can control other people’s blood while it’s in their body. With this line of thought, Marie could be the secret weapon needed to defeat Homelander in the parent series since she could simply stop his heart in theory. Viewers of the parent series know that Homelander is invulnerable on the outside, but it can be assumed that his insides are just as vulnerable as a non-Supe’s (similar to Translucent in the first season of The Boys).
  • Possibly Jossed - it was revealed Victoria Neuman has the same power, so they likely wouldn't need Marie for it.

Jensen Ackles isn't playing Soldier Boy
In a preview for episode 6, Soldier Boy was seen despite getting captured by the Russians at the end of season 3. So, instead, Jensen Ackles is playing an Adam Westing version of himself posing as Soldier Boy. In a subversion of Celebrity Paradox, somebody at Vought noticed that Soldier Boy and Jensen Ackles look alike, so they hired him to take up the mantle and injected him with Compound V. He will be a Truer to the Text version of the character from the comics.
  • Jossed. During the trip inside Cate's mind, Soldier Boy is revealed as Cate's imaginary friend.

Shetty's supposed dead kid is fake
She made them up to gain sympathy points from Moreau, who not only should feel sorry for her but as an orphan, probably would have unconsciously wished for a mother figure in her life. Note that she mentions the story when she is serving breakfast to Marie, a very family-like scenario.
  • Jossed. See below.

Shetty's kid is real, and she was killed by a supe on purpose.
The reason why she's willing to go to such lengths to manipulate and even kill supes is to get revenge for her dead child; she's sympathetic to Cate and Marie because they both killed someone on pure accident, while Shetty's kid was the victim of murder by a Supe.
  • Shetty's daughter and husband died in a plane crash. Caused by Homelander.

The Virus introduced in this show will play a big part in Season 4 of The Boys as a commentary on COVID
The Boys didn't really comment much on the COVID-19 Pandemic, but you just know that if there was a virus targeting Supes and only Supes, but normal humans could be made into carriers, Vought would be selling Homelander facemasks and Deep-branded hydroxychloroquine

Cate lied about being raped.

Alternatively, Cate is telling the truth about being raped. Except it was more than Rufus who did it.
Because Vought is that evil.

Jordan, Andre, Emma, and Marie will beat Homelander to death together.
  • Jossed. Homelander one-shots Marie and easily makes them all surrender.

Billy Butcher will surprisingly feel sorry for Marie.
But ONLY because Marie killed her parents by ACCIDENT and feels GUILTY about it.

John Godolkin has no powers, like in the comics

Alternatively, John Godolkin DOES have powers in the TV Show universe... but it's from a different variation of Compound V

The operation that Luke and Sam were receiving was meant to give Luke more Compound V.
  • I noticed that Sam lacks some of Luke's powers, like pyrokinesis or flight. Since God U realised that Sam's schizophrenia made him pretty much unmarketable, they decided to do a Comp V transfusion to make Luke even more powerful. That explains why Sam is weaker than his brother.
    • Partially confirmed, in that the infusion was in fact meant to make Luke stronger. Partially Jossed, in that Sam is still physically STRONGER than Luke despite the transfusion.

Homelander will be killed by the Supe-killing virus, that Victoria Neumann got her hands on.
  • If she got the killing version, and not just depowering one, the scene in Sick doesn't clarify it. But even the depowering and non-transmitting version could play its part.

The supe-killing virus will mutate to infect humans too.
Thank you, Shetty, you’ve doomed the planet.

Shetty isn't dead.
It was such a sudden jump, between Cate and Shetty having a tender moment of sorts, and then Cate forcing her to kill herself in front of the others. Cate is a telepath capable of overriding their free will and wiping their memories, and we've already seen that she can affect those in her proximity enough to take them on a walk down literal memory lane.

Cate's eyes were bleeding, like when she really pushes herself. Forcing a person to hurt themselves seemingly isn't that hard to do, considering she had Rufus repeatedly slamming a baseball bat into his dick, and forcing a person to confess to everything would be even easier. But making four different people all see the same thing? That is something that pushes Cate's limits.

The knife that Shetty used seemed to just appear in her hand, and Cate stopped Marie from assisting in first aid with the others, the only one among them whose powers would be able to tell her that Shetty wasn't actually bleeding out.

tl;dr: Cate had them all hallucinate Shetty's death.

Homelander will get his ass whooped by Marie Moreau, Jordan Li, Andre Anderson, and a mob of Marie’s anti-Vought classmates

Homelander is also the father of the Blue Laser Eyes Baby, the Blue Laser Eyes College Student from Gen V Episode 7, and the Cute Supe with pink laser vision... thanks to genetic engineering.
After all, Homelander himself was conceived through sperm from Soldier Boy. Wouldn't be a surprise if Vought used Homelander's sperm in turn to conceive other Supe babies down the line.

Homelander is also secretly Rufus' father and even secretly Cate's father... thanks to genetic engineering.

Alternatively, Thomas Godolkin is secretly Rufus and Cate’s father through genetic engineering.

Rufus did not steal the Incredible Steve's penis, a rogue scientist from Vought stole his penis.

Alternatively, Vought themselves stole the Incredible Steve's penis.

Rufus will get his ass whooped in Gen V season 2.

Emma will learn to control her size-shifting abilities through her emotions.
While it’s only briefly shown, Emma crying after Sam turns his back on her causes her to shrink instead of having to purge. Although it can be assumed this is not the first time she’s cried and therefore didn’t turn small, it could be due to stronger, more intense emotions, such as Sam’s betrayal. Alternately, to get bigger, she needs to rage out.

Gen V will become so popular that it will inspire Garth Ennis to make a Boys spin-off comic with elements from Gen V.
May even have comic book versions of Marie, Emma, Jordan, and Andre taking down accomplices to Homelander’s failed coup.

Instead of a clone of Homelander being made like in The Boys comics, it will be a clone of Golden Boy.

If Gen V gets a second season, the main conflict could revolve around a sort of Charles Xavier vs Magneto style civil war between the students of Godolkin University who proceed to split into two sides. One side will consist of students who align with Homelander's supremacist agenda led by Cate while the other side has students who want to prove that Supes can be capable of doing good and living peacefully with regular people led by Marie
  • Cate's side of the conflict will consist of students that clearly feel Supes are superior to normal people such as Sam, Rufus, Harper and Maverick (Who may want to avenge his father's death).
  • In contrast, Marie's side consists of students who genuinely want to prove that good Supes do exist by fixing the system from within. Examples will include Andre, Emma, Jordan, The Incredible Steve from Season one (Who will discover the truth behind Luke's death and join Marie mostly to avenge him)

Other new superpowers we'll be seeing
  • Another guy with a more extreme Healing Factor - he can grow back a hand, but lop off a whole limb and he grows it back while the severed limb grows into an extra him.
  • A Woods captive with the ability to create and manipulate magma at will.
  • A female environmentalist that can control all plant life ala Poison Ivy from Batman.
  • A Supe that can manipulate sound via manipulating the vibrations in the air.
  • A Jubilee expy that can create fireworks style explosions from the palms of their hands.

Andre Anderson will be killed off.

Alternatively, Jaden Smith will become the new actor to play Andre Anderson.

The plotline hints at either being possible
Basically Marie and company end up seperated, then find each other with the exception of Andre, and investigating this one disappearance throughout the season. The Meta Twist is that the audience fully expects The Character Died with Him, but the kids end up finding more evidence of him being moved around, or possibly on the run...
