WMG / A Supe of a Man

Go To

Other DC heroes will pop up and join Superman.
  • Superman is likely not the only hero frustrated and disillusioned with the corruption of the Supe community. So it is possible that other Supes, canonical DC heroes, will join Superman's crusade. And possibly form some... league devoted to justice.
    • Clark did drop a prototype name for that as an alternative to joining the military. Even mentioned turning it into a UN chartered organization which is the most "realistic" way the JL operates in different adaptations.

Darkseid and Homelander will join forces.
  • Darkseid, in some iterations, would like Superman to join him and conquer Earth, but since Superman isn't a brutal psychopath, they can never form a working relationship. But since Homelander is a genuinely evil psychopath who doesn't exactly care for morality and wants to do whatever he wants, he would be a willing acolyte of Darkseid.

Maeve might end up on the island of Themyscira.
  • If Krypton exists in this universe, then it stands to reason the home of the Amazons does as well. With Diana's help, Maeve will gradually regain some of her optimism and become a genuine hero.
    • Jossed. Diana is a Chem V human, not an Amazon

General Zod will appear when the story adapts Season 2 of The Boys.

Homelander is going to find some Kryptonite.
  • This will prompt other characters to incredulously lampshade how a rock can bring down the strongest man alive.

Clark is going to lose in his first fight against Homelander and get a huge reality check.

Alternatively to the above.

Vought is secretly keeping other Kryptonians captive as lab rats.
  • How does Edgar know about Clark's alien origins? Why is Compound V Kryptonian blood? Because, as some reviewers are speculating, somehow Vought stumbled across Kryptonians and chose to harness their powers for selfish purposes.
  • Semi-Confirmed

Stan Edgar met with Jor-El
  • When Edgar claims in private that he owes Clark's father, what if he was talking about Jor-El rather than Jonathan? In Superman/Batman, "The Fathers" reveals that Jor-El chose to send his son to Earth after summoning a projection of Thomas Wayne to Krypton to consult about what Earth could offer Kal-El; what if, in this reality, Jor-El had that particular encounter with Stan Edgar rather than Thomas Wayne or some equivalent? This could even account for how Edgar acquired Kryptonian blood in this reality...

Alternatively, Stan Edgar met with ZOD
That the general claimed that Kal-El was his true son, and made a threat to Stan to create an army for his use in the future, or he'd wipe earth out. Thus, the kryptonian blood was his superpowered means of creating that army.

Kryptonite hurts Earth Supes too
  • We now know that Compound V is a derivative of Kryptonian DNA, so it's likely that Kryptonite might be harmful to them as well. This could be exactly the deterrent for rogue supes like Homelander and Stormfront, but whether Clark would hand over such a thing to either Vought or the government is another issue.
    • Possibly confirmed? After Ryan accidentally breaks open the kryptonite safe, he's as effected by it as Clark, though part of that is due to him becoming more kryptonian as he grows. How this might work on injected Supes is TBD.

Edgar has Kryptonite
  • He seems eerily calm about Homelander's degenerating sanity, and claims to have multiple contingencies in place to deal with him. He must have access to Kryptonite as an all-or-nothing deterrent for the insane Supe.

Who is the pod person?
According to Wonder Woman, the pod where they got the blood from was about 7 ft tall, and whatever was there wasn't necessarily alive. So, is this someone important?

  • Lor-Zod perhaps could be a good candidate. Help to draw in more angles about Dru-Zod if he is to appear in this story.
  • Kara-Zor-El could also be a person of interest.
  • Laura-El. Wouldn't that be a shock that after Vought desecrated the corpse of his mother, Edgar swore to do well by the son.
  • Or it could be someone lower on the poll. Ursa, Non, etc.
    • Confirmed. It was Kara.

Stan Edgar is Zod
Stan Edgar could either be an extremely well-connected human running one of the most powerful mega-corporations in the world (with access to virtually unlimited resources), or he's been subtly using his super-senses to get dirt on people.

  • It would explain how he knew that Clark is a Kryptonian.
  • It would explain how he knew that Homelander was eavesdropping on his conversations.
  • It would explain why he's unconcerned with Homelander, if he could easily kill him in a fight.
  • It would explain why he's so good at manipulating people if he has a background as a general and a wannabe-dictator.
  • It would explain the line "I owe his father"–Zod was the only one who listened or cared about Jor-El's warnings of Krypton's destruction.
    • JOSSED: Superman can’t read Homelander’s DNA because his molecular density is too great for his X-Ray vision to penetrate. If Edgar was a Kryptonian, Clark would’ve been able to figure it out sooner.

Billy Butcher will turn himself into Metallo
  • He would do ANYTHING to kill Homelander and bring down the whole Vought façade. And now that we know that Kryptonite exists, if there's some kind of mad scientist willing to try transplanting his consciousness into a robot powered by Kryptonite, well, Butcher would try anything to win.
    • His Temp-V powers could probably manifest differently in this scenario, giving him the robotic body.

Queen Maeve will eventually prove herself redeemed.
By Diana choosing her to become the next Wonder Woman.

Homelander will kill Mary Clark.
  • Homelander will realize that Mary helped keep Clark sane and grounded, so the crazed Supe will murder her in a ill-conceived attempt at freeing him the way he freed himself by killing Stillwell.

Victoria Neuman is going to strike soon.
  • With Maggie onboard for Clark’s growing faction against Vought, the story is slowly turning in their favor. So Neuman is likely going to be used to clean house at some point to keep them in line.

Diana is going to kill Stormfront.
  • Only fitting for Diana to be the one that kills the Nazi Girlboss.

On an unrelated topic, Batman exists and is operating in Chicago
As Superman mentioned before, not every human injected with Compound V will become a super, but they will possess enhanced physical capabilities such as stronger senses and hyperkinesis. Therefore, it isn't unlikely to rule out Batman's existence in the story, though his place of operations and origins would be slightly different from lore.
  • With Gotham not being a real place, the closest real-world counterpart to Gotham City would be Chicago, Illinois, having suffered decades of institutional crime and corruption.
  • Batman and the Waynes, an old money family in the city, operating in the city, is not far-fetched to being crucial in Chicago's history and founding.
  • It's also possible that, like Superman, Batman's origins will remain the same but will slightly deviate, such as having his parents' deaths tied with Vought. Assassinating prominent politicians and entrepreneurs who are viewed as threats is something Vought International is infamous for doing, especially good-hearted people like the Waynes who may have tried to expose the crony company.
  • While Batman is a skilled combatant with years of training, his heightened senses and reflexes are still "superhuman" by real-world standards, so his being a human exposed to Compound V is not highly unlikely, which could also tie to Wayne's murder.
  • Joe Chill could have been a hitman hired by Vought International to silence the Waynes, or Vought could have sent a Supe to do the job as well.
  • Since Vought has predominant control over the media, there could be media blackouts relating to Batman, seeing him as a liability and a threat to Vought and may secretly be hunting him down without the public knowing his existence (Batman starting off as an urban myth is a common trope).
  • Chicago's condition may be a direct or indirect result of Vought's meddling. The West Coast and Midwest are scarcely low on supes, and with all the Supes operating mostly in the East, many criminals migrated west to avoid them, turning the city into a much bigger nightmare than its real-world counterpart. And if Batman does exist and operates in Chicago, these correlations would fuel his hatred for Vought, both relating to the growing crime and the death of his parents.
    • Annie mentions training with someone to deal with speedsters, and it must've been exceptionally brutal to give her aches and pains.

The events of Gen V will be altered because of Superman's presence.

Homelander is still the son of Soldier Boy, but his mother is now Kara Zor-El.
  • Despite her blood being the source of Compound V, John is the first Supe with a complete array of Kryptonian powers, implying there's more to him than we know.
  • We know nothing about the female donor, but they at least need to have blond(e) hair and blue eye color in their genetics which Kara Zor-El does.
  • And now here's the major piece of evidence... Kara is now awake, and Ryan is registering as a House of El member.
  • It's already shown that it's very difficult for Supes to have children with baseline humans, and if they do, the risk of birth defects is high. It's possible they harvested one of Kara's eggs and artificially inseminated it with Soldier Boy's sperm.
  • CONFIRMED in chapter 22 with Ryan acknowledged by Kara's suit as her grandson after a DNA scan.

General Zod will be the true Big Bad of the story
