Stalk the night!

Vampire: The Masquerade: Justice is a 2024 Virtual Reality action RPG set in the Old World of Darkness as part of the Vampire: The Masquerade roleplaying game line. It is set during the events of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition.

You play as Justice, a member of the Banu Haqim clan, that has recently lost his sire to an unknown assassin. In addition to his sire being killed, an artifact of the Banu Haqim has also been stolen and it is up to Justice to both avenge his sire as well as recover the artifact. This takes him off to the city of Venice where Justice finds himself facing off against the Hecate clan that controls the city.

Justice is a Stealth-Based Game where you use a combination of your vampire powers with a wrist-mounted crossbow in order to tear your way through armies of ghouls as well as vampires or slowly sneak your way to your goals.

This game contains the following tropes:

  • Absurdly Spacious Sewer: Much of the game takes place in half-flooded tunnels and underground passages throughout Venice. See Truth in Television.
  • All There in the Manual: A lot of the game's plot will make a great deal more sense if you're familiar with the Hecata's changes from Cult of the Blood Gods with things like the Reunion, Cappadocians, and Samedi.
  • Artifact of Doom: The statue of the Banu Haqim contains a malevolent spirit of some kind that the Giovanni wish to harness.
  • Big Bad: Tomasso Giovanni is the architect of all the evil going down in the game as well as the person ultimately responsible for the theft.
  • The Dragon:
    • The Masked One is a Tzimisce blood mage who dresses in a Venetian Carnivale outfit. They are also Tomasso's chief enforcer. She actually is Elena Giovanni and not a Tzimisce at all.
    • Elena Giovanni is Tomasso' chief underling and the person who arranged the assassination of your sire and the theft of the artifact.
  • Driven to Suicide: Justice openly speculates that after getting his revenge on Elena and Tomasso, he'll do this as he has nothing left to live for. It's left as an Ambiguous Ending, though.
  • Framing Device: Much of the game is told by Justice to an unseen guest across from him in a chair. It's to his childe.
  • I Hate You, Vampire Dad:
    • Justice has nothing but contempt for his sire and is only avenging him as a matter of honor.
    • Elena hates her sire for giving her the Kiss and wants to destroy him for it.
  • Mook Horror Show: The more minions you kill, the more that they will react with horror and fear in their overheard lines.
  • Professional Killer: Most Kindred believe the Banu Haqim will do this for money or favors or blood. Justice isn't one of these but is willing to pretend in order to get closer to his mission goal.
  • Proud Warrior Race: The Banu Haqim have this reputation in the Camarilla and it is one they're usually proud of. They're less proud of it when people assume they're available to be hired as assassins.
  • Red Baron: Justice isn't the main character's original name but one he goes by now.
  • Revenge:
    • Technically, avenging your sire is one of your primary motivations but Justice is only ambivalent about that part of his mission.
    • Pietro the Nosferatu was held prisoner for sixteen years by the Giovanni, half-starved, and wants to find out who was involved before destroying them.
    • Elena turns out to be motivated by this as well as she wishes to destroy her sire as well as everything he's built.
  • Stealth-Based Game: You travel around Venice, attempting to avoid being seen and devouring or running past your enemies as time permits.
  • Truth in Television: Despite being a city built on water, Venice does indeed have an elaborate number of underground cemeteries, tombs, and tunnels.
  • Was It Really Worth It?: Justice asks this after he avenged his sire and destroyed the statue. He has no idea what so many people died for and whether or not he made a difference.
  • What Measure Is a Mook?: You can confront several of the ghouls across the game who mention that you've been killing their friends and are terrified of you. They can also be overheard talking about normal things like their lives or families when not hunting you.
  • Virtual Reality: The game requires a VR headset in order to play and has a first person perspective.
  • You Killed My Father: Justice wants to avenge his sire, even though he didn't like him very much.
