There is... something... that flows between all of us. You can feel it too, can't you? Spirit, Life, Magic, whatever you call it... it's there. It binds us all together in a way. We're all made of it. But some... some can conjure it. Mold it, shape it, change the universe with it. I fear those who can.

Roseblight is a Strategy/Action RPG developed by Alex Loverde. The first demo was released on April 17, 2020, and the current version of the demo is available on the game's official website.

You play as Overalls, an Ahokian who runs a flower shop on a monochromatic planet called Ahokau. One day, after a mysterious meteor strikes a mountain, he goes on a dangerous quest up the mountain to learn about the meteor and discover secrets within himself.

The game's official Discord server can be found here, and its official Twitter page can be found here.

Tropes:

  • Battle in the Center of the Mind: Overalls and Underalls battle each other in the Soul Chamber.
  • But Thou Must!: The player is forced to agree with Underalls to climb Mount Silver because the answer choices switch whenever the player attempts to disagree.
  • Flowers of Romance: At the beginning of the game, Overalls works at his flower shop and helps pick out flowers for customers, two of whom wish to win over a girl.
  • Jekyll & Hyde: Overalls has a split personality that he has to work with throughout his journey.
  • Meaningful Rename: Overalls, whose real name is Blayk, combines it with Underalls' real name, Nite, and introduces himself as 'Blite' to Marmot at the end of the demo.
  • Morton's Fork: Try to spare Marmot, they attack. Try to kill them, they attack. The decision's made on a timer. Wait for it to run out, and Overalls spares them.
  • Optional Party Member: Qrystal can become a party member after completing her sidequest.
  • Save Point: The player can save the game by talking to a raven appropriately named Saven.
  • Sidequest: On the first day, a sidequest is unlocked which, once completed, allows the player to add Qrystal to their party.
  • Splash of Color: The only colorful thing on the monochrome planet is the red meteor that falls out of the sky. Marmot, his attacks, and the trees that he affects are all distinctly red, too.
  • Split-Personality Takeover: This occurs early in the game as the player’s introduction to Underalls when Overalls gets confronted while at work. A reversal of this also occurs later in the game when Overalls takes control away from Underalls just before he can try to kill Marmot.
