Deadly Night is a 2022 retro survival horror game made by Torture Star Studio, a studio name under Puppet Combo.

You take control of a woman named Carol who stays in a creepy hotel overnight before being kidnapped by a serial killing cannibal, and is forced to escape the killer’s house via any means, while piecing together her mystery.

Deadly Night Contained The Following Tropes of:

  • Abusive Parents: Carol and Dylan’s Mother is an abusive alcoholic who pimps out her own daughter.

  • Action Girl: Downplayed for Carol and Susan, as although they don’t fight against The Killer, they managed to work together to survive against The Killer.

  • Alone with the Psycho: Carol is this while in the hotel with Mr. Shiny, the perverted Motel Owner. Also happens when she’s stuck in the house with The Killer.

  • Asshole Victim: It’s hard to feel sympathy for Mr. Shiny, due to being a perverted motel manager who watch women shower and sleep.

  • Big Bad: The Killer AKA Dylan Miller, Carol’s younger brother

  • Big Damn Heroes: The Nameless Police officer can possibly rescue Carol and Susan, or at the very least kill the Serial Killer if Carol calls 911.

  • Bittersweet Ending: In both versions of version A where Carol and Susan aren’t caught by the killer, they are both saved, determinedly by the police officer, but the killer escapes in both endings.

  • Cain and Abel: Carol and Dylan

  • The Cavalry: The Cop arriving and (seemingly) kills The Murderer while rescuing Carol and Susan.

  • The Cavalry Arrives Late: The Cop could come too late if Carol and Susan were killed by The Killer in the second ending, but he could at least kill him to avenge the girls.

  • Chekhov's Gun: If Carol calls 911 in the first chapter, The Cop can later appear in the last chapter tp save Carol and Susan.

  • Create Your Own Villain: Carol burns down her house in order to kill her mother, but also caused her younger brother to become a scarred and mentally unwell monster

  • Downer Ending: In both versions of ending B, where Susan and Carol are killed by the killer, although in the second version the Cop can kill the killer.

  • Fat Bastard: Mr. Shiny is a disgusting motel owner who pervs on ladies and records them showering and sleeping.

  • Greater-Scope Villain: Carol’s Mother and Mr. Miller serve as these, as the former’s abusive tendencies drove Carol to kill her, and Mr. Miller caused Dylan to become the serial killing cannibal he is today

  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: How Mr. Shiny died, as well as being disemboweled. It is also how a store cashier gets killed, as the Cop finds his head impaled to the counter.

  • Hate Sink: Mr. Shiny is a perverted portly man who sexually harasses his female customers and films them showering for his perverted tapes, and no one shows any

  • Late to the Tragedy: The Cop can appear right after Carol and Susan’s death if the killer catches them.

  • No-Tell Motel: One of the two main locations, a motel Mr. Shiny owns.

  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Possibly, as the killer would Murder Susan and Carol before they could escape, although the cop could avenge them.

  • Tragic Villain: The Killer himself is Dylan, Carol’s brother who was scarred by her due to a bad situation and was put up for adoption, going to a farmer Mr. Miller, who turns out to be a murderous cannibal, and all those factors turn Dylan into the vengeful and repressed serial killing maniac he is today
