Terry Hall wrote "The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum" while he was still in the Specials. If he and the other members of Fun Boy 3 hadn't left, it could have been a Specials single.
After the Specials 2.0 released 'Encore', plans for a second proper album were delayed by COVID, and the band recorded an album of protest song covers instead. Another album was in the works when Terry Hall was diagnosed with cancer.

Breakthrough Hit: James Gunn maintains that the script got him more work than the actual film itself.
James Gunn isn't a fan of the movie, especially seeing as he clashed with Jamie Kennedy and the director, Craig Mazin, on the set. He however warmed up to it upon rewatching it for the 20th anniversary.
Rob Lowe disliked the film, and even refused to do promotion for it. As he did the film during a career downturn, his Career Resurrection with The West Wing led to him distancing himself from it.
Screwed by the Lawyers: Several characters had to have their names changed due to copyright issues. The Strobe was originally Laser Man, US Bill was Dollar Bill, Amok was Eclipse and The Weevil was Bug.
James Gunn envisioned the film as a Mockumentary with handheld cameras and more naturalistic acting. Craig Mazin however viewed it as more akin to a sitcom.
Judy Greer was up for the role of Power Chick, but was deemed a better fit for the more difficult role of Deadly Girl.
Amok was first written to be shamelessly racist, often uttering slurs. This was dropped during production.
The characters were going to be properly introduced via comic book panel freeze frames. This was dropped for unknown reasons.
