Trivia / The Silver Chair

  • What Could Have Been: Two related to possible film adaptations.
    • The episodic nature of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader led them to consider merging it with The Silver Chair. Ironically, prior to that, they'd originally planned on merging the former with Prince Caspian.
    • As mentioned on the main page, in 2013, an adaptation was announced with Joe Johnston directing. It would've acted as a soft reboot (Dawn Treader would've still been in canon, but you wouldn't need to watch it to get this film), and it was planned to make it part of a trilogy (general consensus is that said trilogy would've also consisted of The Magician's Nephew and The Last Battle, with a possible follow-up of The Horse and His Boy), and according to Douglas Gresham (co-producer of the movie, and step-son of C.S Lewis), the script was one of the best he'd seen for a Narnia movie. However, due to a change in studio leadership, these plans ultimately fell through, and Netflix would later announce that they were making their own series based on the books - which has yet to materialize.
