Trivia / Saving our Fragile Earth: Unico Special Chapter

• Celebrity Voice Actor: In the Spanish dub, Unico is voiced by popular Mexican singer, model, and actress Aracely Arambula.
• International Coproduction: This short is a co-production between Japanese and Chinese animation studios.
• No Export for You: Along with Unico: Black Cloud and White Feather, Saving our Fragile Earth never gained an official English dub or hit the international markets. The exception is Spain and Mexico, where both countries dubbed all animated works starring Unico (including the film series by Sanrio Animation).
• Outlived Its Creator: This is the first work starring Unico made after Tezuka's passing of stomach cancer in 1989.
• Studio Hop: Sanrio Animation/Sanrio Film previously had the film rights to the Unico series from 1977 till 1985. After the studio's closure, future animated works starring Unico would be moved to Tezuka Productions, beginning with this short film.
• The Other Darrin:
  • In the Japanese version, Katsue Miwa (who voiced Unico in The Fantastic Adventures of Unico and Unico in the Island of Magic) is replaced by Akiko Yajima.
  • In Spanish-speaking countries, Aracely Arambula replaces Veronica Castro in the Spanish dub of the short.
