Trivia / Pixie Lott

Go To

  • Approval of God: She posted a fan-made video of her song "Dancing on My Own" (which is not a cover of the Robyn song) on her Facebook page, inviting her fans to "share it around".
  • Black Sheep Hit: This could be said for her first three singles (ie. "Mama Do", "Boys and Girls", "Cry Me Out"). They pointed to a retro-styled album, but the rest of Turn It Up was standard pop. This confused many fans and critics who believed she was a New and Improved Duffy.
  • Christmas Rushed: Platinum Pixie, released just before Christmas 2014 after singles from her third album tanked on the charts. The packaging as well as the social media posts advertising the album come complete with lashings of Rouge Angles of Satin. ("Mama D", anyone?)
  • Development Hell: Pixie's third studio album was originally headed this way after record execs apparently nixed it, but a 2014 release date was confirmed with the first official single, "Nasty", premiering in January.
    • Saved from Development Hell: The album was finally released on the 1st of August 2014.
    • A fourth album, which played to the then-popular tropical dancehall sound, entered production sometime in 2016. Two singles were spawned - “Baby” and “Won’t Forget You”. Since then, no further music has materialised and it’s safe to say Pixie has abandoned music for the time being to focus on modelling and running her own stage school.
  • Real-Life Relative: The guy who plays her love interest in the video for "Break Up Song" is her real-life now-husband, model Oliver Cheshire.
  • What Could Have Been: A song on the Updated Re-release, "Coming Home", featured Jason Derulo. It was recorded with the intention of it being a single, however Jason was signed to a different label, and friction between the two record companies ultimately caused the single release to be cancelled.
    • Overlapping with Development Hell: "Can't Make This Over" was also scheduled to be released as a single, with a music video filmed and released to YouTube. However, the release was cancelled a few weeks later. It's also rumoured that "My Love" and fan-favourite "Here We Go Again" were going to be given the single treatment but plans were ultimately scrapped.
    • Also overlapping with a seeming case of Development Hell: Pixie recorded a duet with Joe Jonas in early 2010. As of 2012 it hasn't seen the light of day.
    • The extra tracks on the 2010 reissue of Turn It Up were supposed to be for the standard edition of the US release. That never eventuated.
    • Her duet with the two kids from Big Bang was supposed to gain a worldwide release with its own music video. This was announced in April 2012. As of July 2012 it's safe to say it's been cancelled.
    • Also, whatever happened to her replacing Britney Spears in that Sweet Baby Jesus movie?
