• Looping Lines: Myles Mason, Jeffrey Michael Freeman and Maurice Colquitt played the toddler versions of Buddy on-set, then Eddie Murphy re-recorded the dialogue in post-production.
• The Other Darrin: In the Japanese dub, Koji Ochai took over for Toshihiko Seki as Jason's voice actor.
• Real-Life Relative: Peter Segal's daughter Nikki plays a scared little girl.
• Refitted for Sequel: The makers of the first film had the idea of superimposing Eddie Murphy's face onto Jamal Mixon's body for the dinner scenes, but quickly abandoned the idea after the test shoots produced unsatisfactory results. Here, advances in technology allowed the idea to be re-used in a fashion, namely for when Buddy gets de-aged into a toddler.
• Same Voice Their Entire Life: Combined with Fountain of Youth: after Buddy is tricked into ingesting a dose of Sherman's youth serum, he regresses into a toddler — but retains an adult voice!
• Throw It In!: Larry Miller improvised the operatic note when he is assaulted by the giant hamster.
• What Could Have Been: Jada Pinkett Smith was unable to return due to marrying Will Smith, her pregnancy, and later her signing on to The Matrix sequels.
