NHK moved the anime from their general network (NHK G) into their educational network (E-Tele) after a 6 month hiatus.
The show moved from TV3 Malaysia to Astro Ria on satellite, then to Astro Ceria when the latter was spun off as a dedicated kids channel to the former.
Zig-zagged with Yuki, she was voiced by Mariko Kouda in the first year of the anime's broadcast, and later, Sakura Tange took over. But 8 years later, Mariko Kouda returns to voice the said character.
Saori Sugimoto took on the role of Kisanta Yamamura after Tomiko Suzuki passed away due to a fatal heart attack in 2003. Sugimoto herself died of congestive heart failure on 21 October 2021 leading to Hitomi Ohwada to permanently take on the role after substituting for Sugimoto in the latter half of Series 25.
