Trivia / Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens

Go To

  • Contractual Purity: Nagi, a fictional character, was hit by this reaction when chapter 36 (see below) suggested that in her hundreds of years long life, she might have had a boyfriend. Cue angry fans, saying "I don't want a second-hand wife". This might even have been the cause, or at least severely furthered, Eri Takanashi's illness and/or possible Creator Breakdown.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: With Bandai Entertainment's closure, the Kannagi DVD's are LONG out of print as is their release of the manga, and the due to the anime being an Aniplex title, its future of ever being available legally is very uncertain.
  • No Export for You: This series wasn't exported to many countries, the manga was only published in North America (partially), Italy, China and Korea and the anime was only exported to North America and China.
  • Schedule Slip: Eri Takanashi suffered from a subarachnoid hemorrhage and had to be hospitalized shortly after the 36th chapter of Kannagi was released. She went through a successful surgery without any complications, but she took a hiatus to fully recover her health. However, she said that she was more easily fatigued than she was before, so even after coming off her hiatus, new chapters were released somewhat irregularly. Unfortunately, the timing of her illness with the crazy otaku Fan Boy backlash of the 36th chapter caused many to think that her hiatus was due to a Creator Breakdown.
