* ContractualPurity: Nagi, a ''fictional'' character, was hit by this reaction when chapter 36 (see below) suggested that in her hundreds of years long life, she might have had a boyfriend. Cue angry fans, saying "I don't want a second-hand wife". This might even have been the cause, or at least severely furthered, Eri Takanashi's illness and/or possible CreatorBreakdown.
* ScheduleSlip: Eri Takanashi suffered from a subarachnoid hemorrhage and had to be hospitalized shortly after the 36th chapter of Kannagi was released. She went through a successful surgery without any complications, but she took a hiatus to fully recover her health. However, she said that she was more easily fatigued than she was before, so even after coming off her hiatus, new chapters were released somewhat irregularly. Unfortunately, the timing of her illness with the crazy {{otaku}} FanBoy backlash of the 36th chapter caused many to think that her hiatus was due to a CreatorBreakdown.
