Trivia / Just the Ten of Us

Go To

  • Dawson Casting: Teen characters Marie and Connie were respectively played by 24-year-old Heather Langenkamp and 25-year-old JoAnn Willette. Quite glaring considering that Connie was only 15, and the youngest of the teenage girls.
  • Directed by Cast Member: Frank Bonner (Father Hargis) directed several episodes of Seasons 2 and 3. As is usually custom with this, the given episodes had Hargis either make only minor appearances or not appear at all.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: The main reason that the series has never been released on DVD is due to music clearance issues for the episodes featuring the Lubbock Babes singing.
  • Screwed by the Network: Despite earning decent ratings as part of ABC's TGIF block and frequently winning its time slot, the show was abruptly cancelled in the spring of 1990. It was widely speculated that it was due to Miller-Boyett Productions wanting another one of their shows in the timeslot (to join fellow programs Family Matters, Full House, and Perfect Strangers) thereby dominating the TGIF block; and ABC was simply not able to find another slot for Ten. However, it was really a case of then ABC Entertainment president Bob Iger simply not liking the show.
  • You Look Familiar:
    • Johnny Dark appeared in Season 1's "Close Encounters" as Klaus, one of Graham's co-workers, and as various guest characters in Growing Pains. In Seasons 2 and 3, he played Danny, the manager of the pizzeria that the girls sing at.
    • Billy Erwin played three different characters: Ralphie the mechanic ("A Christmas Story"), Mr. Pruitt ("Who Cut the Cheese?" and "Simple Gifts"), and Barker ("Snow Job, Part 1").
