- Children Voicing Children: Most of the kids in the series are voiced by actual children, with Billy Rosemberg (best known for voicing Max in Max and Ruby) voicing the titular character. One of the only exceptions to this is Renee, who was voiced by Julie Lemieux.
- Crossdressing Voices: Several dubs of the show have the boy characters voiced by females. For example the Latin American Spanish dub has Jacob voiced by Maythe Guedes, while the Italian dub has him voiced by the late Monica Bonetto.
- Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: IMDB claims that the show run until 2016, and that Jay Leno and Kelly Ripa played Leo Louse and Auntie Goodforyou. The site also includes some obviously fake episodes in its episode guide, including a Thanksgiving special (with a plot cribbed from A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving) and a crossover with Codename: Kids Next Door.
- Edited for Syndication: On Qubo's Saturday morning block, The Tag is replaced with a segment where Jacob summarizes the episode's moral.
- One-Book Author: Jocelyn Barth, the voice of Marfa, has no other acting credits.
- The Other Darrin: Daniel was originally voiced by Jeff Berg for the first half of the series. For the second half, Berg was replaced by Robert Tinkler.
- Playing Against Type: Those who have seen Timothy Goes to School will be quite surprised to hear Fiona Reid, the voice of of the supportive and kindhearted Mrs. Jenkins, as the bitter and cruel Miss Sour Pickle, a character who is the complete opposite of Fiona Reid's other animated teacher character in every way.
- Uncredited Role: The credits list only the main characters with everyone else uncredited.
- Write Who You Know: Jacob and his family are all based on and named after Richler's own family, with them having gone on to their own fame in literature, television and journalism.
