• Actor Allusion: "The Cameo Show" is full of this, as it heavily features Bob Newhart's and Judd Hirsch's former co-stars from The Bob Newhart Show, Newhart, Taxi, and Dear John, many of them playing characters similar to their characters on the earlier shows, with some even sharing names with those characters (like with Peter Scolari playing Dr. Harris or Peter Bonerez playing Dr. Robinson) and others being The Danza.
  • The same episode also includes a plot where George takes group therapy while Leo wins a car and uses it to give taxi rides in the area.
• The Danza: Bob Newhart as George may not seem that way at first, but Newhart's full name is George Robert Newhart.
  • Some of Newhart's former co-stars who appear in "The Cameo Show" are this, with Marcia Wallace, Jack Riley, and Julia Duffy playing characters with their first names (though they are really expies of the characters they played on the earlier shows).
