- Creator's Favorite: Jack Horner was supposed to be written off after the Jack Be Nimble story arc. But Shelly Bond "sweet-talked" Willingham into putting him into a separate spin-off instead. Bond's reason? Jack Horner was her favorite.
- Inspiration for the Work: Willingham named a number of Fairy Tale Free-for-All stories as inspiring the series, including Into the Woods and The 10th Kingdom.
- What Could Have Been: The identity of the Adversary was originally planned to be Peter Pan until Willingham learned the character wasn't in the public domain. With the series' return in 2022, #151 and #152 are implying that Peter Pan was in fact the power behind Gepetto the whole time.
