Trivia / Colossus: The Forbin Project

• Acclaimed Flop: Embraced by the critics, but rejected by the box office at the time.
• Fake American: Eric Braeden, German, playing presumably American Dr. Charles Forbin. Likewise, the U.S. president is played by Canadian actor Gordon Pinsent.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: While the film is on DVD, it's only in cropped pan and scan format. The only release of the film in its original widescreen format was on laserdisc. Averted with release on Blu-Ray in 2018.

  • A data page in Marvel comic Doctor Zero mentions that a computer game based on the titular hero's exploits is now available for several platforms, including "Colossus-Forbin".
  • Rebuild of Evangelion, of all things, specifically 2.0. Upon activation, the Dummy Plug System speaks one of Colossus' lines in reverse.
  • Person of Interest. The Voice of World Control is heard in the episode "Nothing To Hide".
  • Manufacture’s second album The Voice of World Control comes across as what might result if World Control had decided to take up recording EBM/synth-pop crossover as a hobby in the early 90s.
• Star-Derailing Role: This was the only film for Eric Braeden for which he is treated as a movie star at the time of the making. Despite his recognition taken a nosedive following its lukewarm financial reception, Eric always looked back at the film fondly, still seeing it as a great film of his resume that critics said it to be.
