- Billing Displacement: Lizzy Caplan was billed at the top and the poster only her character (Carol) was killed at the end of the second act. Antony Starr is also billed in the film poster but his character (Mark) suffered the same fate as Carol. Ironically, the main character (Peter) actor does not appear in the film poster and is billed second at the main credit.
- California Doubling: Set in Pennsylvania, judging from the license plates seen in some scenes, but filmed at Nu Boyana Film Studios in Sofia, Bulgaria.
- Creator's Oddball: Making that Darker and Edgier horror film is very rare for Point Grey Pictures, as they mainly produce Lighter and Softer comedy films (This Is the End and Sausage Party have horror sequences, but both are Played for Comedy). This one has no laugh from the audience.
- Out of Holiday Episode: Set during the week leading up to Halloween, with plenty of reminders of that fact. Released in July 2023, a good three months before Halloween.
- The Shelf of Movie Languishment: Was filmed in November 2020, but not released until July 2023.
- Screwed by the Network: Lionsgate has no faith in the film, filmed in 2020, but for whatever reason Lionsgate has put it on the shelf for nearly 3 years, and then gave a release date placed with a clash of Barbie and Oppenheimer movie. Even worse, Lionsgate posted only a trailer before its release date despite it being generally well-received by critics and audiences, and having Seth Rogen on it, and thus it only made over 8 million at the box office, resulted in Rogen's company Point Grey Pictures and Lionsgate of the relationship ended after their next film Miller's Girl starring Martin Freeman and Jenna Ortega received another underperformance for same reason.
- Similarly Named Works: There also shares the name with a Korean movie released in the same year.
