Trivia / @Midnight

  • Approval of God:
    • More than once they've used the category "The Iron Sheik: Real or Jabroni?", where they examine tweets from Sheik's Twitter feed and the contestants are quizzed on whether he likes something (the Real) or not (Jabroni). Sheik has since voiced his approval of the skit...the only way he knows how.
    • Same deal with Jose Canseco: Hug or Hate. In fact, Canseco tweeted the show "@midnight hugs for you."
  • Executive Meddling: Artie Lange had to be dropped from the last NYC Week show after a controversy erupted over some disgusting tweets towards ESPN anchor Cari Champion. This happened early enough in the week that they could get a replacement (previous contestant Jesse Joyce) to stand in on very quick notice.
  • Milestone Celebration: A big deal was made about the show's 100th episode. Previous winners and fan favorites Nikki Glaser, Ron Funches, and Doug Benson were brought back as the contestants.
    • The show's final episode was also its 600th, and featured around two dozen former contestants.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Chris Cubas, winner of the #PointsMe challenge, appeared as a panelist on the March 25, 2015 show. He was good enough his first time to get invited back.
  • What Could Have Been
    • CM Punk was supposed to be a guest, but cancelled due to leaving WWE. Punk's known snarkiness would've fit perfectly, but alas...
    • Prince was a fan of the show, and his team had reached out to Comedy Central about him making an appearance alongside comedian Jake Fogelnest, who had been operating a popular Prince parody Twitter account. Sadly, that didn't come to pass, and Prince never appeared on the show at all before his death in 2016.
