Go To

  • Dawson Casting: Valérie Lemercier, then-57, as Aline Dieu at every age starting at 15.
  • Directed by Cast Member: Valérie Lemercier directed the film and played the main role.
  • Disowned Adaptation: Two siblings of Céline Dion, Michel and Claudette, reacted negatively to the film. There has been no word on whether or not Céline has seen the film otherwise (her agents allowed Lemercier to make it).
  • Fake Nationality: The French Valérie Lemercier as the Canadian (from Quebec) Aline Dieu. Everyone else is appropriately from Quebec.
  • International Coproduction: The film is a coproduction between France and Canada (Quebec, more precisely).
  • Release Date Change: The film premiered on October 4, 2020 in a single theater in Le Chesnay and was supposed to undergo wide release in France thereafter, but worsening sanitary conditions during the COVID-19 Pandemic pushed its release over a year later to November 2021. The same about its Canadian, Belgian and Swiss releases.
  • Voice-Only Cameo: French TV host Michel Drucker has one As Himself to go along with the Real Life footage of himself from The '70s when Aline performs on French TV for the first time.
  • Written by Cast Member: Lemercier wrote the film in addition to starring in it.
