- Creator Backlash: Verity Lambert remembered the show as an extremely flawed flop and was somewhat bemused when it later picked up a fandom.
- Divorced Installment: The series was initially conceived as a modernised TV adaptation of the iconic British Two-Fisted Tales character Sexton Blake, but when negotiations with the rightsholders fell through it was rewritten to be about a new, coincidentally-similar, character.
- Missing Episode: Most of the second season and a few episodes of the first were lost in a BBC archive purge.
- The Other Marty: In the first (never-transmitted) pilot episode Georgina was played by Ann Holloway, not Juliet Harmer.
- Uncredited Role: Harold Bennett as an old man in "Death Begins at Seventy".
- What Could Have Been: Mark Gatiss pitched the idea of a Reunion Show to Verity Lambert (it may also have been a Distant Finale), but nothing came of it.
