Thank you for playing! We'll always remember you!

It isn't the Worst Tale without tears to be shed in SINoALICE. There's even a Character that embodies sadness and misery in the Library, so there's no surprise about having something to cry over in the fairytale Deadly Game.

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

     Main Story
  • A lot from the Act of Reality, and not just because it hits too close to home. Among other things Pinocchio and the Three Little Pigs had Abusive Parents, Alice kept clinging onto her teacher despite their breakup (as well as his exploitation of her AND leaving her pregnant to boot) because in her eyes he was her whole world, and Sleeping Beauty suffered from an incurable disease that is all but stated to be the one named after her fairytale. And at the end of it all, every single one of them died, with a whopping 7 due to suicide. It gets worse if similar stories to theirs have appeared in real-world news, or if the reader has known someone (or even went through) what the Characters did.
  • Hard Mode for the Act of Elimination (Part 1) is out, and get ready for an emotional ride because the stories within are all from the perspective of each chapter's losers.
    • Aladdin may be a gentleman (if a bit money-obsessed), but ultimately all he wanted was to be with his princess again, regretting not asking for her hand in marriage while still a poor boy. When he died, the woman of his dreams wasn't Rapunzel, whom he had been courting, but the princess from his tale who died when he lost his lamp. It's later implied that this was why he didn't take up Parrah and Noya's offer of revival - so that he could be Together in Death with the princess he loved.
    Aladdin: "Oh, my princess. Please.
I promise next time to propose to you.
I'd say that even if I were my young self without money again...."
    • For all of Snow White's convictions that she is just as Justice itself, her inner thoughts towards the end heavily implies that her Reality counterpart's Armor-Piercing Question has really gotten to her, and ultimately was the cause of her own demise. Despite trying to justify herself about her masters to her opponent, she never expected someone to truly question her justice.
  • Speaking of Part 1, it's not like the winners have it easy either. For starters, Red Riding Hood's chapter has the two versions of her being genuine friends with one another, but Library!Red Riding Hood's demise became the catalyst of Reality!Red Riding Hood's own Sanity Slippage, and when Part 2 comes around she's even worse than what she originally was.
  • The Three Little Pigs' chapter in the Act of Elimination (Part 2) features an appearance by their Reality counterparts. Even after all that they've been through, all three of them are still trying to earn their mother's love via rooting for their Library counterparts to win. And it's also heavily implied that the 2 sets of triplets did meet, and the side that emerged victorious was the Library side.
  • The ending to the Act of Authors. Once the truth of the Gotta Kill 'Em All scenario the Characters were repeatedly involved in and the futility of fully reviving their authors sets in, absolutely no one is happy about it, and the sole verse in Chapter 5 has everyone silently murdering each other after crossing the Despair Event Horizon, with the only sound made is Alice's One-Woman Wail song of despair over losing Lewis Carroll a second time. The chapter ends with Alice as the Sole Survivor again, the Lifeforce from the other Characters coming together, and Parrah and Noya' cryptic hint about Project SINoALICE, which involves Reality. As in, our world.
  • Dear Lord, Sleeping Beauty just can't catch a break whenever the main story is set in some form of Reality. Aside from her already depressing ends in the Acts of Reality, Fusion and Elimination, the Act of SINoALICE has her killed by a Nightmare-fied Dark!Little Match Girl after bearing witness to the chaos that occured when the game started. And that's after the duo found out about the Nightmares here.
  • In Chapter 4 of Dorothy and the Three Little Pigs' Act of SINoALICE, Dorothy develops a bomb that will completely eliminate the Nightmarefied Pokelabo staff, but doing so will cause Dorothy to lose her own life in the process. Dorothy isn't bothered by this since she's developed a hypothesis that she'll just respawn in the Library when she dies... when the Pigs take the bomb from her and commit a Heroic Sacrifice, having regained their memories from the Acts of Elimination. For the first time in her life since her journey in Oz Dorothy's upset over losing people she's cared about, and since she and the Pigs have started to view each other as sisters she's notably not her usual chipper self after the Pigs commit a suicide bombing to save her and she slowly realizes her true purpose in the game.

     Server Finales
  • The ending to the Taiwanese version. Alice finds herself repeating the same thing as she did in the beginning of her story by following a rabbit into a maze. There, she finds doors that have things written by the other Characters on them, but chose to find another path because she felt like those words were reflections of herself. Eventually she starts breaking down as she gets overwhelmed by fighting the Nightmares while finding an escape from reality. It's so bad, Parrah and Noya ask the player to save her and the souls of the others via the meaning of their arrival to Library - a key representing hope. The player and Alice then defeat the Character Nightmares and Alice thanks the player for staying by her side the entire story. The story ends with Reality!Alice waking up from her nap in a classroom, joining her friend with a smile and seemingly ends Happily Ever After... but remember, this is a Yoko Taro game. To give Alice this happy ending, the player has to destroy the world of Library and by doing so, they can never return again. Considering that this was made to close off the Taiwanese server itself, it's a very bittersweet ending.
    • One of the last things you (the player) does before your account's inevitable demise is to send a final message to your guild. If you want, you can make the already sad moment even sadder via your Final Speech, especially if you're the guildmaster or the glue holding the guild together.
  • Even if the Global server's ending ended up similar to the Taiwanese version, tears were still shed as SINoALICE did give people the opportunity to befriend others around the world, with players saluting each other as they announced the demise of their accounts on social media and despite everything, the Global server still had a number of fans who still love the game till this day and specially waited until the last minute to play the ending and exit the game.
  • In the Act of Desire, whoever you picked at the end of Chapter 5 will spend the downtime in Chapter 6 between fending off Desire-Noya's tentacles by bonding with you, which is heartwarming until you remember that the Act of Desire is the story's final chapter and chances are, they aren't going to make it out alive to do all the things they said they want to do with you.
  • THE JAPANESE SERVER ENDING. Oh boy. The finale starts with the player's guildmates showing up for the final boss fight against Desire-Noya, and as the guild fights for their lives, the Characters realize that if the SINoALICE System were to be defeated it will be the end of everything, including themselves. Nevertheless, they give it their all to end the cycle of suffering they've been going through for so long and they succeed, albeit at the cost of Noya's life. Parrah eventually decides to join him in death by jumping off the time machine for the same reason as Popola in Nier: she just can't leave her twin alone. In the credits roll, there's an image of the two of them peacefully sleeping in a Library overrun by greenery, content with everything.
    • As for the Characters themselves, they soon find themselves bathed in pure white light with Dorothy explaining that with the root source of the game's Desire, the Grimoire system, destroyed, as products of that very Desire themselves, they too will disappear. The Characters then bid the player one final goodbye and Go Out with a Smile, with Alice making one last promise to the player to remember the Characters always, just as much as they will remember you forever.
    • At the very end of the credits roll, who should appear but your guild, and then your friends who followed you throughout your journey in SINoALICE. After the 10 minutes grace the guild gets to say their final goodbyes, the final scene at the end of the game is a gravestone with your name on it, with a number on top telling others who visit your grave that you were the xth player to clear the game. To hit this home even further, if you're playing with a guild, the whole guild will have their graves next to each other, meaning that just like the puppets and the Characters, the guild was also Together in Death. Booting up the game afterwards will have a broken orgel arrangement of the original title music "The Book of Lies and the Universe" and a white lily at the foot of your gravestone, just to hammer in the fact that yes, SINoALICE as we know it is gone forever. Finally, there's a Grimoire that you can pull like how you used to which will have a Character at random talk about how they're never going to forget you. Cue the waterworks.
    • If one looks closely at the home screen after clearing the game, just to remind you that the beloved Characters are gone for good, they've left a few trinkets for you.Note All in a now-ruined Library.
