Some stories focused on a main character's romantic life feature a rival or even a friend who goes out of their way to steal the MC's love interest or drive them away to have the MC all to themselves.


  • "My friend stole my husband, thinking he was a CEO but...": Ayu called Nao to announce she stole her husband Yota. Her gloating about doing it on Nao's wedding anniversary, on top of Yota's squandering of her savings and credit card money on Ayu, gave her plenty of evidence to use in court and sue the lovebirds out of every penny they owned.
  • "My sister tried to steal my fiancé…": After finding out Taeko's fiancé, Shinichi, was a rich and handsome CEO, Chieko tried to steal him from Taeko with their mother's support. To make matters worse, their mother lured Shinichi into her house to manipulate him into marrying Chieko instead. It turns out Chieko had a fiancé six months ago, only to be dumped in favor of someone else.
  • "My high school bully tried to make my life miserable but it backfired on her": Ten years after bullying Mami back in high school, Yurika calls her to gloat that she stole her husband and even sent her a photo of the affair to twist the knife. However, Mami is disinterested all the way through much to Yurika's chagrin. Turns out the man Yurika had an affair with wasn't actually Mami's husband, but her troublemaking younger brother Hayato.
  • "When my husband's lover messages me about her baby, I tell them the true story": Rena called Miyuu to gloat that she stole the former's husband Ryuta and became pregnant with his child. When she talked it with Ryuta, he became Blue with Shock, tried to deny it, and sent her to buy groceries to keep her from asking more questions. However, Miyuu doesn't fall for it and comes back to spy on him.
  • "Sister stole my fiancé from me…": Rena stole Nano's fiancé Ryuta and gloated about it after he gave her the keys and she broke into Nano's house to steal her stuff, even their wedding rings. While Nano lets her marry Ryuta, she threatens to sue for damages as he canceled the wedding on her.
  • "I was invited to a wedding by the woman who stole my boyfriend…": Tomoka gloats over the phone to Sumire about stealing her boyfriend Tsutomu. Moreover, she invites Sumire to her wedding to twist the knife even further. However, when she asked Tsutomu about how did he pick Tomoka over her, he told her she was assertive and outdoorsy, which made him feel new experiences. Therefore, Sumire moved on and wished them the best as she was engaged to a man named Naoyuki Sato.
  • "My friend was bragging that she stole my doctor husband. Little did she know....": Ayaka gloated to her best friend, Sakurako, about having an affair with the latter's husband, Genta, behind her back. When Sakurako called her out for it over the phone, Ayaka shrugged off her lawsuit threat claiming he was a doctor and a hospital director. Later on, when Ayaka called her over Genta being fired from the hospital, Sakurako reveals she is the Hospital Director while Genta is a mere manager and even then, he was utterly incompetent.
  • "When I confessed to my classmate, things start to get weirder…": When Naoto Ubu confessed his feelings to his classmate Yua Hinomaru, another classmate named Yokoyari decides to break them up by messaging both parties and slander the other to them in an implied effort that she wanted to have Naoto all to herself.
  • "A mom friend stole my husband and disappeared.. 2 years after the divorce...": Keiko calls Masumi to gloat about having charmed and stolen the latter's husband and to announce she caught her snapping photos of the affair. However, Masumi recorded the phone call and played it aloud to both her parents and in-laws, the latter of who apologized to her. But by the time she did so, the lovebirds disappeared, with Mitsuya taking loans under Masumi's name to spend on Keiko.
  • "I went out with this boy, but he was just using me and had another girlfriend": After Natalia found out her first-ever boyfriend Mitch only used her for sex and had a girlfriend named Brooklyn on the side, Brooklyn herself shows up at Natalia's school to chew her out for "stealing" her boyfriend Mitch after reading the messages he sent her. However, after Natalia tells her the truth about what happened, she changed her attitude and started to console her after she found out how much of a manipulative asshole her boyfriend was. As a result, both girls team up to bring him down.
  • "She stole my husband so I got back at both of them!!": After spilling the beans about Yukina's situation since her husband Toshiya spilled coffee on a parent for being demanding, Kaori also stole Yukina's unemployed husband Toshiya despite being married herself. However, their respective spouses caught them in the act, causing the lovebirds to be kicked out of their respective houses.
  • "A girl I hated in school invited me to her wedding and asked me to give a speech": Charako shared with her friends Manaka and Satomi the story of how Akemi flirted with and stole her boyfriend Takeru back in high school, despite Akemi having her own boyfriend. Moreover, she gloated about it and even had the gall to call Charako a friend after all she did. Furthermore, Akemi had a history of doing this since she knew how to charm men to her side. Later on, when Junya Takagi, Akemi's husband, calls Charako to address her absence at the wedding, she reveals Akemi's true colors to him, which causes the newlyweds to break up.
  • "She thinks she stole my fiancé but the person she slept with was...": Moemi slept with Kanako's fiancé, Mr. Inakawa, and sent her a picture of the affair while gloating that she's going to replace her at her wedding. It turns out Moemi couldn't stand when "ugly" people get happier than her and that was the reason she did it. Later on, she tries to steal Kanako's new fiancé only to find out the man she bedded was his estranged, disinherited cousin and Kanako's stalker.
  • "My rival at work stole my wife when I was 40 years old…": Tsuyoshi Inoue's wife, Kazumi, divorced him one year after their marriage despite giving her what she wanted, which made him suspect she was cheating on him with another man. When he turned 40, he found out his coworker and rival, Takumi Yamada, charmed Kazumi into leaving him to spite Tsuyoshi. However, he finds love again after dating his younger coworker, Misaki Abe.
  • "My friend who stole my fiancé two years ago tried to do the same thing again": Marie finds out Ayako was engaged to Kenji, a handsome former classmate of theirs at their old school and constantly heckled her about his status until Ayako sent her home because she drank too much. Later on, Kenji asks her to break up with him because he was dating Marie three months ago. After Ayako runs off crying and books a hotel, Marie calls her to gloat about it and reveals she did this to spite Ayako for getting Kenji's attention instead of her back in high school. One year later, Ayako returns to Japan with her new fiancé, Cedric, and stumbles upon a worn-out Marie, who falls for him and tries to steal him from Ayako as well. However, he refused because Ayako warned him about her beforehand. When questioned about Kenji, Marie reveals he was obsessed with his mom to the point of emotional abuse, and while the baby she gloated about is safe because it was a boy and therefore an heir for his company, she was treated like trash and eventually was barred from tending to her baby, which caused her to run away.
  • "My step-sister tried to steal my husband…": After Misuzu marries Naoya, her younger stepsister Chizuru goes out of her way to seduce him. Moreover, while Naoya was creeped out by her advances, he was too nice to even bother to tell her off. This starts to tip Misuzu off that he was cheating on her until Chizuru confirms that she's getting married to Naoya. When Chizuru starts gloating that Naoya will pay the compensation for her, Misuzu reveals that he is an unemployed criminal and therefore she'll be the one getting his dad's inheritance. It turns out she was the CEO's personal assistant and got the inheritance rights after Naoya lost his temper at being fired to the point of waving a golf club to assault the CEO, but his weak constitution made it easier for everyone to restrain him before calling the cops on him.
  • "My twin sister tried to steal my husband…": Years after Tomoka got engaged to a foreigner on her business trip to the States, she returned to Japan to have their wedding there. After Honoka failed to score herself a future husband at the wedding because of her unbearably high standards, she tried to steal Tomoka's husband by impersonating her and even sexually assaulted him. Understandably, Tomoka cuts ties with her and the rest of her family.
  • My best friend stole my fiancé...: Rena successfully hijacked Sakura's engagement to Ryuuji by accusing her of infidelity because the man was successful enough to be promoted to section chief. However, she mooches off the man by meeting guys behind his back while leaving their baby daughter home alone. When Sakura announced she's marrying a CEO, Rena tries to steal from her again only to be cornered by both her parents, Sakura, and Ryuuji to hold her accountable.
