Go To

In some episodes, the antagonists will adopt a pleasant persona around other people, but then reveal their true selves toward their target or enemy, or while no one else is looking. The motives for these characters to hold an act vary, but these often boil down to money, feeling superior to others, or stealing someone the protagonist cares about. Therefore, this warrants MoniRobo a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing subpage.

  • On the day of an important presentation, she tries to bring me down: Ayane Azato may seem like a nice and hardworking girl but it's all an act; she often bullies Nano and dumps her workload on her on top of trying to sabotage her presentation to win a contest. • My sister's fiancé doesn't want me at their wedding because I'm disabled: Daisuke Nishio seemed to be a decent, respectable rich guy around his fiancee Tomomi but acts cold and dismissive towards her paraplegic older brother Koji. He was flirting with a female coworker while engaged to Tomomi and took part in an embezzlement scheme along with his company's head manager.
  • My best friend's fiancée said, "You make me sick. Don't come to our wedding!": Emi comments that her best friend Hisao had poor taste in women, as these were the same type of women who acted nice in front of their men but are actually rotten when no one was looking, and intuits the same on his latest fiancee Risa, who is also homophobic.

However, once they married and moved into his diabetic mother's house in the countryside, both mother and son started to bully Manami by putting her down for everything she does no matter how hard she tried. Later on, Manami eavesdrops on them and finds out the reason Takashi married her was that "she seemed weak" for not having a family to turn to; he wanted a wife who would do as he said, which drives her to run away.

[sic]: Nano's mother-in-law Marie acted like a kind mother around her son Masayoshi to cover up her abusive and controlling behavior toward Nano, which she justified under the excuse of "making her a good wife". However, Natalia started to feel something was off with the idea of such a teen heartthrob dating an unpopular girl like her. Furthermore, her doubts were confirmed when her friend Thea tells her that Mitch had another girlfriend in another school named Brooklyn.
