In some stories, the antagonist hides beneath a friendly, caring facade towards the protagonist or other characters, but then reveals their true colors either in private or when cornered. Sometimes, they get exposed to their families, friends or even the entire community if they're particularly monstrous. This is what warrants Revenge Films a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing page of its own.


  • "During a live broadcast of the Happy Family Project, I sent out an SOS signal": Connor seemed like a kind husband when Ashley dated him, but once they married and his mom moved in with them at their island house, both started abusing Ashley for being paraplegic, especially after her children, William and Sarah, were born.
  • "My wife left our daughter to go on holiday and have an affair…": Jessica seemed to be a kind young woman when Ryan met her, but five years after marrying her and having their daughter Maria, she's revealed to be a cheater who left Maria with her friend Naomi while Ryan was away at work.
  • "My sister came home from her boyfriend’s house on the verge of death…": Michelle's boyfriend seemed to be a kind, understanding man. However, he showed how willing he was to risk her life just to please his family by forcing her to eat the bread from his family's farm while ignoring her wheat allergy.
  • '"He's been treating me like this for 2 years..." We hid in the closet to catch him red-handed': Thiago seemed to be a kind man while dating Priscilla, but after their marriage, he abused her verbally and physically for two years. What's more, not even his parents knew of his abusive behavior until Priscilla's family exposed him.
  • "My foster mother passed away, and I tried to go to her funeral but…": The OP's husband seemed to be a sincere and kind man, but after their marriage he revealed his true colors when she tried to check on her foster mother, often criticizing mother-daughter relationships. What's more, he even cheated on her for that and beat his lover upon seeing her walking with her mother only to get the cops called on him for assault.
  • "My husband's girlfriend claimed she was pregnant with his child but...": Ron seemed like a kind husband towards Hanna, but as time passed and they couldn't conceive a child, he treated her coldly and cheated on her with a 20-years-younger woman named Mary, who claimed to be pregnant with his child. However, it turns out Ron is the infertile one, and therefore; Mary didn't know she was pregnant and tricked him into believing he was the father.
  • "My in-laws don't feed me, and I stumbled into a restaurant...": Amelia's farmer husband Matthew seemed to be a nice man while dating her. When he took her to his mom's house to live in, both mother and son forced her to slave away at the farm and she became malnourished after weeks of forced work.
  • "My friend tried to make me have a miscarriage": Rinko seemed to be a good friend towards the protagonist Kanae Mubita while she was pregnant; she even gave her tea that was supposedly good for expectant mothers. However, Kanae felt like she was about to miscarry and went to the hospital. It turns out Rinko slipped a uterotonic into Kanae's tea to make her miscarry in revenge for having suffered one that plunged her into depression. Furthermore, seeing someone else's baby bump aggravated her depression.
  • "Boyfriend treated me like crap…": Bob seemed to be a kind man towards his girlfriend the OP, but when she tried to turn down his dates because of her painful periods, he started to badger and guilt-trip her into going on dates. Furthermore, he brought his mother with him, who insulted and accused her of being a "slut" due to her periods.
  • "My Stepmom Told Me, No food for you. Snitch on me and you’ll be punished!": Mary's stepmother seemed to be kind toward her, but when her father wasn't around she often left the house neglecting her. What's more, she even hit Mary whenever the latter told her father about her going out and forced her to keep quiet.
  • "Husband “DO NOT ENTER MY ROOM!” I was ready to divorce him, so I went in...": The OP's husband Ken seemed to be a caring man when they dated and even helped her with her pregnancy after marrying. However, when the OP reveals their son had asthma, he revealed his true colors at her, spouting misogynistic abuse at her for birthing an asthmatic child and even raping her after drinking himself drunk at bars.
  • "My best friend stole my fiancé...": Rachel's boyfriend seemed to be a caring, kind man, but it turned out to be an act as he dumped her for her best friend Thea and even hit Rachel when she called him out on his cheating. What's more, he also abused Thea physically and financially once he moved in with her.
  • "He expects me to work, do the chores, the child rearing, all perfectly…": John seemed to be a kind man while dating the OP, but when she talked with him on whether she should stop working after becoming pregnant, he showed his true colors and expected her to care for the kids and work full-time, as he thought of childcare and other household chores as a woman's job.
  • "I went to my fiancé's house to see his parents, but what they made me do was unbelievable": Charles seemed to be a considerate man and even treated her like a princess while he dated the OP, but when she came over to his parents' house, he did nothing as his mom forced her to care for his disabled brother Denny, who had a severe behavioral disorder. Furthermore, Charles even sided with his mom when she told the OP to relieve him sexually. Turns out this was the reason he dated her in the first place; his mom had cancer and didn't have long to live.
  • "Husband doesn't appreciate his wife's efforts and complains to her parents...": The OP's husband seemed to be a kind man while living together before marrying, but afterward he started to pick on her for being "spoiled and lazy" because she used leftovers in their dishes and even complained to her parents about it, only to be scolded by them. Even his mother had the same reaction.
  • "Mother-in-law tells nephew to pull my chair away when I'm pregnant as a joke": Alisha's mother-in-law was caring towards her until she and her husband married, in which point she wanted Alisha to do the chores for her.
  • "My sister hanged herself": Three years ago, Daisuke seemed to be a kind, unassuming man while he dated Yuriko's sister. However, once they married, he revealed he was a bossy, dominant, and abusive husband towards her. To make matters worse, the abuse he put her through made her feel hopeless and drove her to take her own life. Thankfully, she was rescued early and her family helped her face him.
  • "My husband abused me both physically and emotionally...": The OP met a man who seemed caring and selfless, but once they married, she notes he suddenly became selfish and inconsiderate, even blaming her for everything whenever she protested his abuse. Whenever she bought food for herself, he always ate it and abused her for it. When she revealed the abuse to her in-laws when they found her unconscious in the house during their visit, they called him and chewed him out for his abusive behavior and help her file for a divorce.
  • "My fiancée cheated on me with my boss so I caught them on tape and showed our colleagues": Rachel seemed to be a pure young woman who'd never cheat, but her fiancé Mark caught her cheating on him with their boss. In retaliation, he filmed them in the middle of their affair and exposed the recording at their next drinking party. However, Rachel retaliates by accusing him of cheating.
  • "My husband forced me to do chores despite my terrible morning sickness": Thomas was a man with a strong sense of justice and dedicated to his job since both his parents were schoolteachers and raised him in a strict environment. His fiancée Rachel found this attractive and she married him, but once she became pregnant with their first child, Thomas revealed himself to be an abusive bastard who demanded she do the house chores and fix him dinner despite her morning sickness. His mom was even worse, as she forced her to sew baby clothes instead of going to the doctor whenever she came over to the house.
  • "My boss tied me and and abused me, I bring all the evidence I can to take revenge" [sic]: Mr. James came to OP's aid whenever her higher-ups yelled at her for her mistakes and helped her through her work. Moreover, he also seemed to be a dedicated family man and kind manager. However, he took advantage of the OP to lure her into his house and then raped her, dropping her off home when finished. Moreover, he threatened her not to go to the hospital.
  • "My friend introduced me to a psychopath who tried to brainwash me": Man-A seemed to be a decent man on the first day he dated Sukami, but when they both asked a couples' course, he wanted her to get the same dishes as him and constantly badgered her into saying "yes" all the time. Moreover, he acted like they were already a couple and stalked her. Things escalated when she found him waiting outside her house and tried to beat her for refusing to say yes one too many times.
  • "My son's fiancée was a monster and we caught her violence on tape": Ken's fiancée, Mia, seemed to be a kind woman when he introduced her to his mother, Rhea, but when Mia visited again without Ken's company, she showed her true colors by insulting Rhea's cooking and barred her not only from attending their wedding for being in a wheelchair, but also from moving in with the couple. She tried to warn Ken, but he didn't believe her. Moreover, Mia visited again and threw Rhea off her wheelchair out of spite. However, her other son, Ted, has set up security cameras and showed Ken the footage of Mia's abusive behavior, causing him to call off the engagement and wedding.
  • "When our son got engaged, my husband told me he wanted a divorce…": OP's husband appeared to be a faithful, kind man when she dated him; his first wife cheated on him and ran away. Afterward, he started to show his true colors as a misogynistic abuser and treated her like a maid. However, his son, Sean, was kind towards her and her son, Nathan. When she went with Sean to meet his fiancé, she not only finds out the fiancé's mother was the older sister of Sean's birth mother, but it turns out she was forced to give birth to Sean and then dumped afterward for her sickness. This drives the OP and Sean to confront their abusive, lying bastard of a husband and father, respectively.
  • 'My "boyfriend" had a wife and a child...': Kevin seemed to be a nice guy and a dedicated family man when dating Jessica. But she became suspicious of him as he started to absent himself and even told her to take birth control pills during sex. When Jessica decided to investigate him with her best friend, Jamie, they both found out he already had a kid with another woman. When Jessica told him she didn't take the pills and she didn't have her period, he blew up at her for becoming pregnant and demanded she abort it. When Jessica asked Kevin why he asked her out, he revealed it was because he regarded his wife as too old for him.
  • "Someone stabbed me at the night pool": Kate, Brooks' girlfriend, was also Belle's best friend, but she shows her true colors at the night pool, where she stabs Belle while Brooks and Vince went out for foods. After a nurse tended to Belle, Kate callously told her to go home. However, after the pool staff caught Kate with the help of an anonymous person, Kate admitted she attacked Belle because she "was in the way" between her and Vince. As a result, she was arrested, expelled from school, and thrown into juvie.
  • "I was taking the birth control pill, but I still got pregnant..." Kevin, the OP's boyfriend, seemed to be understanding and kind. Furthermore, he even declared he would protect her and her baby when she told him about her pregnancy. However, when he took her to his mom's house, he stood by and refused to defend the OP when the old crone verbally abused her, or even when she reported that his mom shoved her into the path of an oncoming car. Later on, the OP finds out that Kevin used his knowledge as a pharmacist to mess with her birth control and thus get her pregnant to prove himself a "real man" to his friends. Disillusioned, the OP resolves to make the bastard and his mother pay for what they did.
  • "My boyfriend got me pregnant, but he left me for the daughter of the CEO": Richard seemed to be a good boyfriend towards the OP. Even when he drunkenly raped her, she kept supporting him. However, when she told him about her pregnancy, Richard revealed he wasn't into her and demanded she abort it as he was going to marry the CEO's daughter. However, the OP refused and lied to him about aborting her baby, resuming her work until her belly got too big to keep up the facade. However, on her way out, she overhears Richard not only gloating to his friends about marrying the CEO's daughter but that he only went after the OP for her body and accused her of going after his money. As a result, the OP resolves to expose the bastard on his wedding day.
  • "My wife changed completely after we got married. She stopped cooking and doing chores so…": OP met a woman through an Arranged Marriage, and she seemed to be a kind person. Once they got married, however, she quit her job and refused to do housework. Moreover, she hung out with her friends or slacked around at the house whenever OP was away. When he confronted his wife for her indolence and hedonistic tendencies, she revealed that the reason she even married him was for his money. Moreover, she quit her job because she didn't like being under someone else's orders and wanted to have someone she could boss around.
  • "My sister lied that I was having an affair to cover up her own affair": Emily's younger sister, Chloe, seemed to be supportive towards her as the former talked to the latter about their father accusing her of cheating on Thomas. However, it is revealed she was the one who framed Emily for the alleged affair to cover up her own infidelity. Not only that, but Chloe also framed Emily for her own cheating back in high school and stealing their parents' belongings.
