It's very likely, given Fujimoto's love of cimema, that this is a reference to this movie.

- Captain America: The Winter Soldier: The South Korean version of the movie shows this film as one of the things Steve Rogers has noted down to watch to catch up on culture since he's been frozen.
- The Raid: Yet another Oldboy-inspired hallway battle, which actually managed to become iconic in its own right in Asian cinema.

- Daredevil: Matt fights a group of assailants in a corridor, filmed as The Oner; the crew explicitly comfirmed this as a reference to Oldboy.
