Here are the different series and works that have referenced Flame of Recca.

  • Several plot points from Avatar: The Last Airbender are notably or seemingly lifted straight from Flame of Recca.
    • The concept of the Avatar, the master of fournote  elements, is that he/she grows in power after every generation, with him/her gaining the knowledge and power of previous incarnations of him/herself. Meanwhile, the Hokage Clan has a similar system in the form of flame dragons.note
    • Zuko's burn scar on his face and masked version of himself are highly reminiscent of Kurei's modus operandi. Zuko is also an antagonist that eventually joins forces with the protagonist's side in the end, just like how Kurei eventually did to his little brother Recca and Team Hokage.
    • Azula's flames being blue compared to the red and yellow flames of ordinary firebenders like her brother is also reminiscent of how Kurei has purple flames compared to the orange flames of his brother Recca. She's also reminiscent of Kurenai's clone Renge in how she's the daughter figure of the Big Bad.
  • In Kuroko's Basketball, Shinji Koganei, the small forward reserve player of Seirin, looks a lot like Kaoru Koganei of Flame of Recca fame.
  • In Naruto, the term Hokage (火影, literally means "Fire Shadow") that's also used by Recca doesn't refer to a specific clan but instead to the title bestowed upon the village leader.
