- Cool Bike: Ares rides a motorbike straight into the panel. He can even summon the bike away.
- Drowning My Sorrows: Joxer deals with the supposed death of Gabrielle by getting drunk in a tavern.
- Fangirl A couple of women crash the panel. They later managed to find a way in. Annie Day also counts.
- "Freaky Friday" Flip: Not interested in Harry's body, he switches his soul with Annie's ,placing them back to their proper characters' looks.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Ares ends up destroying his own contract by accident while trying to hit Xena with fireballs.
- Jumping Out of a Cake: Meg makes a surprising cameo by jumping out of a cake, complete with lingerie made out of frosting. Ares wasn't amused.
- Magically-Binding Contract: Ares tries to get Xena to sign a marriage contract with him. Later when he makes a deal with Gabrielle for her soul, he forces Xena to make one that hands Xena her soul in her next reincarnation.
- Reality Is Unrealistic: The fangirls are unimpressed with Ares fireballs once they get to see them in real life.Hey! What’s wrong with the special effects?
Yeah, they’re really cheesy. - Reincarnation Romance: Seemingly easy to miss, perhaps as a Censor Decoy, but following on from what was established in the previous episode with these reincarnated characters, the events here put Xena and Gabrielle in the modern day, in identical reincarnated bodies, together in a lesbian relationship definitively.
- Whole Episode Flashback: In this case, Xena's usual time is the flashback to the present day.
