When the bears go to the doctor for a checkup, she diagnoses them with poor health due to their diet of mostly human food, and prescribes a strict 21 day cleanse diet of foods their particular species consumes: fish and berries for Grizzly, bamboo for Panda, and seals for Ice Bear.

Tropes

  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Grizz's dream/hallucination has a giant version of the doctor ripping open the roof of his room and eating all his food.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Grizzly becomes very angry with Panda upon finding out that he had been cheating on his diet and attempts to reveal it to the public.
  • Call-Back: When pictures of Panda cheating on his diet are uploaded to his social media, one of the negative comments it receives suggest he should stick to sneezing.
  • Cold Turkeys Are Everywhere: Grizz tries to distract himself with cat videos, but pop-up ads for food keep appearing. And then he imagines the food in the ads coming to life and asking him why he doesn't want them anymore.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Ice Bear tries to eat a live seal, but then he looks into its eyes and decides to keep it as a pet instead.
  • Diet Episode: The episode's premise is about the bears trying to eat things their species eats as a diet.
  • Dramatic Irony: Panda immediately complains about needing variety once he learns he can only eat bamboo as part of the cleanse. In the wild, while panda's can eat other things, they eat bamboo by preference.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Ice Bear isn't able to follow his cleanse, since he can't purchase seal meat at the grocery store and can't bring himself to kill a live seal.
  • Furry Reminder: Although they are able to talk, walk upright and even drive, the bears are still actual bears. It's easy to forget when your cartoon has talking animals, but being able to talk doesn't mean their biology is able to match a human's. As such, eating like humans has caused things like blurry vision and accelerated heart rate, necessitating a cleanse to get things back on track. It also does not help that because they're so used to eating like humans that going back to their natural diets is challenging. Grizz is fine with it at first since berries and fish are pretty easy for him but soon finds himself desperate to eat junk food again, Panda is disappointed in eating bamboo since it isn't very appetizing, while Ice Bear is unable to purchase seal meat at the market and finds himself unwilling to kill a seal when he gets one.
  • The Guards Must Be Crazy: When Ice Bear realizes he can't just buy seal meat at the grocery store, he simply casually walks into the nearest Zoo with a shopping trolley and takes a seal without any hassle.
  • Instant Web Hit: Panda starts getting a ton of followers on social media by uploading his pics about his diet. And then instantly loses them when Grizz uploads proof he's been cheating on it.
  • Let's Meet the Meat: Grizz's desire for snacks causes him to hallucinate food coming to life and asking him why he doesn't want to eat them anymore.
  • Must Have Snacks: Grizz, the one most committed to the cleanse, immediately starts having trouble the moment he learns he can't have snacks.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Seeing how much the bears are struggling with their respective diets after one week, the doctor relaxes their strict diet and encourages them just to try as much as they can.
