Recap / Tracker S1E3 "Roswell"

Go To

Cole is tracking a pair of Orsian twins, who are able to communicate with one another telepathically. He manages to capture the life force of one and uses a device to try to intercept the other brother's telepathic messages. He learns that the brother is in Roswell, New Mexico and tells Mel about an old rumor that a ship of treasure hunters went missing in this quadrant decades ago. The Orsian is after the ship. Cole heads to Roswell, leaving Mel to listen for telepathic messages. He tracks the Orsian to the Walker Air Force Base, where the fugitive has located the alien ship. He finds a device that projects a three-dimensional map of some kind. Cole confronts him, only to be surrounded by soldiers. Cole uses his abilities to short out the lights and run after the fugitive. The Orsian contacts his brother and asks him to let Zin know that he has the device. Cole meets the Orsian at a local diner, and they head outside to fight. The Orsian has the initial advantage, but Cole manages to overpower him and take his life force. He opens the container, but the crystal from the device is missing. It turns out that the fugitive has hidden it inside a napkin holder at the diner. The waitress finds it and uses it as a prop for a ray gun.

  • Air Vent Escape: Cole escapes from the military base using one. It conveniently leads him outside.
  • Big Eater: Saahm constantly eats, claiming his human body requires a lot of nourishment. Raahm is disgusted and recommends his twin consider something called a "diet".
  • Fast Tunnelling: Orsians are able to quickly dig themselves into and out of the ground.
  • Flying Saucer: The alien craft looks similar to a saucer, although it's more oval in shape. It's not stated which species flew the ship, only that it likely came from the Migar System.
  • Gilligan Cut: A guard aims a rifle at Cole. The next shot is of Cole leaning the unconscious guard against the elevator's wall. Given how quickly he disabled the previous guard, it's not much of a surprise.
  • Hand Blast: Cole uses energy blasts from his hands to stun guards, to spoof security card readers, and to short out electrified fences.
  • Helium Speech: An acquaintance of Jess tries to help turn Mel's bar around. He suggests that they become an oxygen bar and delivers several tanks. Jess has Cole try it, but it turns out that the tanks are full of helium instead, making Cole sound high-pitched.
  • It's Personal: Raahm hates Cole for putting him, a fellow Tracker, in prison, knowing what the other prisoners would do to him.
  • Neck Snap: Raahm kills a scientist at the Walker Air Force Base this way to get his security card.
  • Psychic Link: Orsian twins are able to communicate telepathically. They wear nickel neck bracelets to strengthen the link at great distances. Cole uses Saahm's captured life force and jelly to intercept Raahm's messages and to send pre-recorded thoughts from Saahm back. He leaves Mel to monitor the messages while he heads to Roswell.
  • Psychic Powers: Orsians are able to get visions of past events by smelling something. Cole does something similar by touching them.
  • Roswell That Ends Well: Raahm is searching for the spaceship that crashed in Roswell in The '40s. Specifically, he wants a device that was on the ship. According to Cole, the ship belonged to a group of treasure hunters, who diverted to Earth's sector of space for some reason and were never heard from again.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Raahm knows that Cole is weak to cold, so he use a can of compressed air to weaken the Tracker at the start of their fight.
