Original Airdate (Twitch): October 2, 2021

One week after ending the tyranny of Zaro van Strahdovich, the party is trying to cope with their current lots in life. A new face that had been abducted by the mists, as well as a message from outside of Barovia, gives some party members new hope. The party prepares to renew their search for a way home, but something strange is going on with the ravens of Ravenloft...
  • Achievements in Ignorance: Brand believes he's a weird Ork that can turn into any other Ork. So, when he mistakes Ray for a scaly Ork, he's able to perfectly mimic him down to the voice.
  • Berserk Button: The unpleasant feeling of someone rooting through his memories, combined with being asked about the recent losses of loved ones in a casual tone, causes Ray to have a brief emotional outburst before realizing he's dealing with The Pumpkin King in a human guise.
  • Beware the Mind Reader: When Jack demonstrates his powers of Telepathy, Ray has an intense pain in his head and the painful feeling of someone rooting around his memories.
  • Butt-Monkey: Grymharl is accompanied by two werewolf "interns" during her patrol, which Monty names Phyllis and Conrad. Phyllis gets lucky and tears a ghoul's arm off with one swing, while Conrad constantly gets Natural 1's and is quickly made the subject of jokes by the party.
  • Call-Back: Grymharl notes that the situation that starts the session (fighting Ghouls in the forest) is similar to how she originally met Wihakayda, and tells her "We really need to stop meeting like this."
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Grymharl struggles saying words like "please", "thank you", and "friends", at one point spitting up blood when attempting to be friendly.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Brand considers his shapeshifting to just be a fun party trick while believing he's a pure-blooded Ork, and denies being married to a Ghoul when Grymharl informs the rest of the group they found him "engaged in combat". He's also quite loud for a hunter, which he blames on his Ork upbringing, and pronounces Barovia as "Barrow Viah".
  • Creator In-Joke: When Brand gets the chance to properly introduce himself, it turns out he's from the setting of a one-off campaign that Bosco had ran for Monty and Sarah Anne Williams off-stream.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: This is what Ray's doing in his first scene, feeling lost after the deaths of his husband and a trustworthy friend, and without a clue what to do next.
  • God in Human Form: Jack, the telepath inquiring about large ravens that quickly gets on Ray's nerves, is quickly revealed to be The Pumpkin King in disguise.
  • Heroic Second Wind: Ray starts the session at the lowest point of his life, and has given up hope. But upon being told the Wham Line mentioned below, he's given renewed purpose and prepares to get the party back together.
  • Hidden in Plain Sight: Brand is beset by Ghouls while searching for help in the forest, but in the middle of combat, Wihakayda reveals herself as one of the nearby trees and quickly assists the first living being she's seen in a week.
  • In Medias Res: The session proper begins with Brand lost and wandering in the forests of Barovia, trying to track down shapeshifters for help, having already been caught in a misty blizzard offscreen and two days prior.
  • Innocently Insensitive: When Ray arrives at Kapnos and Sophia's house after learning about Gishath's revival, he's overjoyed to share the news. However, Sophia's eyes are narrowed, and Monty notes how she's probably thinking about how she lost Sumer. Later, a comment Grymharl makes about goats when Kapnos is serving everyone gyros for dinner brings back sad memories of Calamity.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Due to one of Monty's cats constantly meowing in the background during the recording, Monty claims that Grymharl has adopted a cat that she's keeping in her armor to help her learn to be more empathetic.
  • Mundane Utility: Kapnos uses his smoke clone ability as a butler, opening the door when Ray arrives and serving everyone dinner.
  • Off with His Head!: Grymharl manages to kill one of the Ghouls by uppercutting its head off, which lands next to Brand and gives him a bit of a spook. A few moments later, Brand uses his crossbow to blast the head off of another Ghoul that Wihakayda stuck in a tree and was planning to save for later, stating "You missed one."
  • Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: Grymharl and some werewolves come across Brand and Wihakayda's battle against the ghouls while on patrol, and before joining in, Grymharl comments "This used to be a nice neighborhood."
  • Shout-Out: The group have created a secret knock when entering Sophia's abode, which is the first few notes of The Terminator theme.
  • Telepathy: While Ray's drowning his sorrows, a jovial fellow named Jack comes up to Ray and asks about giant raven sightings. When Ray's too depressed to engage in conversation, Jack taps him on the back, and suddenly knows about Ray being bothered by the deaths of Calamity and his husband.
  • Time Skip: A week has passed since the conclusion of the last session, during which Grymharl has been training with the werewolves, Ray is drinking his sorrows away, Kapnos is still researching the mist, and Wihakayda has returned to protecting the woods.
  • Tragic Keepsake: When the session cuts to what Kapnos has been doing, he's taken to wearing one of Calamity's fire-blackened gauntlets as a memento of her.
  • Wham Line: Immediately after dealing with Jack, Ray suddenly hears a new voice in his head, in the form of a Sending spell telling him of something major that's happened back in Icewind Dale: his husband Gishath has been revived, courtesy of Ray's father-in-law.
  • When She Smiles: When the party reunites at Sophia's place, Grymharl successfully lies that the Werewolf Alpha wanted to let her know he misses her, and DM Bosco makes special note of how this news makes her smile.
