Recap / The Omnitrix Hero S 2 E 8 Trixie's Destiny

Go To

With Trixie's and Aareus' relation now revealed, they must work together along with Flash, Shining Armor, and the Rainbooms to stop Devious from getting the last Medallion and destroying the world and remaking it in his own image.

  • And the Adventure Continues: Trixie now has the goal to retrieve the other 11 medallions and return them to their rightful kingdoms, with 10 of them having now bonded with someone else within Canterlot. The chapter also ends with her and Shining Armor, now with their own heroic alter egos, joining Flash in protecting Canterlot as his equals.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Devious gets away with the Radiant Dragon medallion, but his plan is stopped. Trixie now has her own medallion back and has become Lady Masquerade again, now with more confidence in herself, and has the goal of retrieving the other medallions Devious stole, with the implication that she will be crowned the new queen once this quest is complete.
  • Foreshadowing: We are given a hint of what some of the other medallions are capable of when Devious uses some of their powers during the chapter beyond the Radiant Dragon, showing that some have the ability to grant Super-Strength and Super-Speed.
  • Gotta Catch Them All: Trixie's goal now is to retrieve all the medallions scattered across Canterlot before Devious can obtain them himself again. Both of them already have a medallion themselves, leaving 10 unaccounted for.
  • I Shall Taunt You: Devious makes Trixie sloppy during their fight by taunting her over how he killed her mother.
  • Mythology Gag: The Rhetorical Question Blunder between Devious and Flash, when Squidstrictor destroys the orb with the medallions, is just like the one between Hex and Ben in "Tough Luck"
    Devious: What have you DONE?!
    Squidstrictor: Saved the day.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Devious successfully obtains the Luna Cat Medallion, and with all 12 medallions in his possession nearly manages to destroy the world and remake it as he imagines it. But Trixie manages to wrestle the staff out of position long enough for Flash to destroy the orb with the medallions and send most of them off to find new users.
  • Really Royalty Reveal: With the reveal that Trixie and Aareus are twin siblings, it is stated that Trixie isn't just a princess, she's also technically the rightful heir to the Luna Cat Kingdom since the medallion chose her as its user, making her a future queen.
  • Self-Serving Memory: Trixie's view of her past relationship with the Rainbooms is heavily warped. She remembers them as bullies who used to laugh at her, stole the spotlight away from her during the Battle of the Bands, and barley included her the yearbook. This neglects how she herself was the instigator in their various past conflicts and that the Rainbooms were actually saving everyone from the Dazzlings at the Battle of the Bands instead of trying to show her up. This is all meant to show that despite how much Trixie has developed throughout the series and is trying to do better, she still has a lot of maturing left to do, especially before she is ready to become queen of a kingdom.
  • This Cannot Be!: Devious can use the powers of the other medallions without switching to them from the Radiant Dragon, which Aareus notes should be impossible. Devious claims he can sync with multiple medallions and use them simultaneously, but notes he isn't as powerful with them this way as he would be if he were to use the medallions on their own, but considers it an acceptable loss.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Devious escapes with the Radiant Dragon medallion, swearing he will find the other medallions again.
  • You Killed My Mother: Trixie's animosity with Devious becomes even more personal after she discovers that Queen Miragina, whom Decious murdered, was her mother.
