    Critic: And let me guess: he's the boys' (a picture of Darth Vader appears with the caption "Father") and the mother is (a picture of Bambi's mother appears with the caption "Kaput") and a great, big, fancy party is happening (a picture of Annie appears with the caption "Tommorrow") and the odds of any plot device being original in this movie is (a picture of Mega Man Zero appears with the caption "Zero"). Could you just fax me the disappointment I'm going to receive?
  • Just Eat Gilligan: Critic says the movie would have been over sooner had Robert simply called the cops on the villain.
  • Shout-Out
    • Critic assumes that the opening scene was where Hugo stole its material from.
    • Critic says the "animal in the bed" routine has been around since the dawn of man and shows a clip from 2001: A Space Odyssey to prove it.
      • Speaking of the routine, a clip from The Critic also plays.
  • Silly Simian: Definitely averted; The Critic expresses his view that monkeys are unfunny due to their constant inclusion for the sake of comedy, and sees this film as just more shining evidence of that opinion.
  • Take That!: Critic shows footage of the dawn of man where the ape-like ancestors create the idea for the "animal in the bed" joke and the E-Trade baby commercials.
    • Critic says that bounding and gagging Kyle (Played by Eric Lloyd) is what most people wanted to do since The Santa Clause.
